According to the notification, the publication of the Electoral College list will take place on January 16 at 12 noon. The nomination process is scheduled for January 19 between 2 pm and 4 pm, followed by scrutiny of nomination papers, the window for withdrawal of nominations, and a press briefing by the National Election Officer later in the evening.
The official declaration of the result will be held on January 20 between 11.30 am and 1.30 pm at the party’s central office in New Delhi.
In December 2025, the BJP had appointed Nitin Nabin, a senior leader and minister from Bihar, as the party’s National Working President.
The election of the BJP National President is part of the party’s structured internal democratic process, conducted periodically through organisational elections from the booth level upwards. The current exercise follows a series of organisational appointments and reshuffles aimed at strengthening the party’s leadership.
