Kanpur, 24 November. On the second day of the three-day program organized at Motijheel on the occasion of the martyrdom day of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale Ji bowed his head before Sri Guru Granth Sahib. On this occasion, he said that Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, the symbol of courage, valor, and sacrifice. He was the ninth Guru of Sikhism. The Kashmiri Pandits, who were enduring the atrocities of Mughal ruler Aurangzeb, had sought refuge with the Guru.
The Guru gave them his word to protect their faith and firmly confronted Aurangzeb’s oppressive policies. On Aurangzeb’s orders, he was subjected to tortures, and pressure was also put on him to convert his religion. Despite this, he did not waver from his path. In the year 1675, he sacrificed his life for the protection of religion, humanity, and human values.
On this occasion, the office-bearers of Sri Guru Singh Sabha Mahanagar honored Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale Ji by presenting him with a saropa.
