Islamist mob attacked Hindus in Chamba

FacebookTwitterWhatsAppTelegramEmail

From November 12 to 17, 2025, Organiser documented a deeply unsettling rise in targeted attacks, coercion-based religious conversions, grooming of vulnerable Hindu women and girls, abductions, assault on temples, and intimidation of tribal communities. A total of over 30 cases across seven states and neighbouring Bangladesh have been recorded this week alone. These include attempted forced conversions, love jihad cases, temple desecration, sexual assault through identity fraud, abduction of minors, targeted attacks on Hindu devotees, and systematic exploitation of financially weak families. The numbers portray a grim pattern, not isolated events but a continuum of hatred, manipulation, and violence directed at Hindus.

Yet, despite the gravity of these incidents, much of the so-called mainstream media chooses silence. Their editorial blind spots enable perpetrators and leave victims unseen. In contrast, Organiser, as the unwavering voice of Bharat, has taken upon itself the responsibility to bring these stories to the fore, every week, without fail. These reports do not merely document crimes; they reveal an organised ecosystem of predatory behaviour, ideological aggression, and community-targeted crimes that must be acknowledged, confronted, and addressed with urgency.

Case you should know

Among the many disturbing incidents this week, the violent attack on Chamunda Mata Mandir in Chamba (Himachal Pradesh) stands out as one of the most heinous and alarming. On November 12, a mob of around 25 armed Islamists stormed the historic temple, attacking Hindu devotees inside the sanctum during prayer. Witnesses recount that the invaders, armed with wooden sticks and weapons, barged into the temple, hurled anti-Hindu abuses, and mocked revered deities while beating the devotees brutally. Three young Hindu men were grievously injured; one fell unconscious inside the temple premises. Locals rushed them to Chamba Medical College, while one of the attackers was overpowered and handed to police. The rest managed to flee, fuelling fury and fear among residents.

What makes this case particularly chilling is not only the violent desecration of a sacred Hindu temple but also the sheer brazenness with which the assailants operated, storming a sanctum, assaulting worshippers, insulting gods, and attempting to spark communal panic. Hundreds of locals and Hindu organisations immediately gathered for protests, leading to an intense stand-off at the Chamba City Police Post. The anger was so widespread that the SP himself had to intervene, deploying a Quick Response Team to control tensions. The incident signals not just an attack on individuals but an attack on the Hindu civilisational identity of the region, an assault aimed at terrorising the community spiritually, psychologically, and socially.

 November 12, 2025

1. Tribal sisters targeted in conversion plot by Muslim family in Sonbhadra

A shocking case of predatory proselytisation has emerged from the Duddhi region of Sonbhadra district, Uttar Pradesh, where a tribal Hindu girl and her three sisters were allegedly pressured to convert to Islam and marry into a Muslim family. The prime accused, Bahadur Ali, along with his wife Razia, son Azmat Ali, and associates Abdul Subhan and Nasimuddin, reportedly visited the girls’ home repeatedly, offering money, land, and a house in exchange for conversion.

When the victims refused, the harassment intensified. One of the girls was followed in a vehicle on her way to college, threatened with death and even an acid attack. The family, already burdened by poverty and the father’s disability, lived under constant fear as intimidation grew. Police have registered a case and the investigation is underway under the supervision of Duddhi Circle Officer Rajesh Rai.

2. Armed Islamists attack Hindu devotees, desecrate Chamunda Mata mandir in Chamba

A violent communal assault rocked Chamba town in Himachal Pradesh on November 12, 2025, when an armed mob of around 25 Muslims stormed the historic Chamunda Mata Temple and attacked Hindu devotees inside the sanctum premises. Witnesses reported that the assailants, carrying sticks and other weapons, hurled anti-Hindu abuses, insulted revered deities, and brutally beat three Hindu youths present for prayer.

The sudden assault left the victims severely injured. Locals rushed to rescue them and admitted them to Chamba Medical College and Hospital. Eyewitnesses said the attackers not only assaulted the devotees but also mocked Hindu gods and goddesses, trying to create panic and defile the temple’s sanctity. One of the perpetrators was caught by local youths and handed over to the police, while others managed to escape.

The attack sparked massive outrage among local residents and Hindu organisations, who staged protests outside the Chamba City Police Post, accusing the authorities of inaction. The demonstration soon turned into a road blockade demanding immediate arrests. Police deployed the Quick Response Team to control the situation, and Superintendent of Police Vijay Kumar Saklani personally reached the spot, assuring action and peace.

3. Christian missionaries caught luring Hindu families in Bilaspur

A covert conversion drive was busted in Bilaspur district, Chhattisgarh, where Hindu villagers, including women and minors, were manipulated to embrace Christianity under the guise of a “prayer meeting.” The incident took place in Kukurdikhurd village under Pachpedi police station limits on November 12, 2025.

According to reports, two Christian preachers, Sanjay Dandekar and Ririk Lahaskar, organised a gathering at Dandekar’s residence, where dozens of Hindu families were present. They offered material inducements and emotional promises to persuade attendees to abandon their ancestral faith. Religious texts, including Bibles and Christian literature, were being used to influence villagers and their children.

As word spread, local Hindu organisation members informed the police, who arrived to halt the meeting before tensions escalated. A written complaint was filed by Narayan Patel, accusing the organisers of exploiting vulnerable Hindus through inducements and psychological manipulation. Police registered a case under Section 299 and Section 3(5) of the Chhattisgarh Freedom of Religion Act and began recording witness statements.

4. Love Jihad allegations intensify after Jyoti Kumari’s disappearance

Jyoti Kumari, a 25-year-old woman from Dhansari village, has been missing since November 11, and her case has now become a troubling example of how a simple investigation can spiral into confusion, delays, and deep mistrust. Her family first sensed something was wrong on 9 November and approached the police immediately, but even after Jyoti disappeared on November 11 and an FIR was filed the next day, the investigation barely moved.

Vijendra Singh, Jyoti’s brother says the officers not only stalled the case but even allowed people linked to the accused, Aamir Khan Qureshi, to roam freely inside the station, raising questions about possible collusion. Jyoti has since been found but remains silent, with no clear statement about whether she left voluntarily or under pressure. Reports says that she carried 4 tolas of gold and Rs 1.5 lakh.

Vijendra continues to allege that police suppressed statements, shielded the accused, and weakened the investigation from the start.

5. Love Jihad allegation adds new twist to murder FIR against former Punjab DGP

A fresh controversy has erupted around the murder FIR filed against former Punjab DGP Mohammed Mustafa and his family, as the complainant, Shamsuddin Chaudhary, now faces a Love Jihad allegation in Panchkula. The charge surfaced through a post by the Facebook page Malerkotla House, which frequently promotes content linked to Mustafa’s family.

According to the post, Chaudhary allegedly manipulated a wealthy Hindu couple during a minor dispute, pushed them toward divorce, and later drew the Hindu woman into a relationship under the guise of “Love Jihad.” The page claims he began living with her thereafter.

Malerkotla House is widely believed to be linked to the Mustafa family’s PR circle. After the death of Mustafa’s son, Akeel Akhtar, on 16 October, the page had been posting images, videos, and statements in support of the family.

Mustafa, a 1985-batch IPS officer, was once considered close to former CM Captain Amarinder Singh. His equations soured after he was not appointed DGP. He later aligned with Navjot Singh Sidhu and remained active in Congress until retirement.

His wife, Razia Sultana, a two-time MLA from Malerkotla, served as cabinet minister in 2017 and again in 2021, though she eventually lost the 2022 election.

6. Shahrukh Khan accused of hiding identity, raping widow in Ajmer

A widow from Ajmer has accused a man named Shahrukh Khan of posing as a Hindu, luring her with a promise of marriage, and then raping her. The woman, who works as a labourer, filed a complaint at the Civil Lines police station after the accused allegedly deceived her, assaulted her in Kishangarh, and later escaped with her jewellery and savings.

According to the FIR, Shahrukh first introduced himself as a Hindu and gradually built trust with the woman. He then proposed marriage, took her to Kishangarh on the pretext of work, and sexually assaulted her. The woman further stated that he fled with her gold earrings, mobile phone, fifteen thousand rupees in wages, and essential household items. His phone has remained switched off since.

Civil Lines SHO Shambhu Singh confirmed that a case has been registered under charges of rape, cheating, and other relevant sections. The survivor’s medical examination has been completed, and police teams have been deployed to trace the absconding accused.

7. Delhi blast probe uncovers Jaish-e-Mohammed terror module

In the ongoing investigation of the Delhi blast that claimed 12 lives, authorities have arrested Dr. Shehnaz Shahid, who was reportedly in contact with Jaish-e-Mohammed through Masood Azhar’s sister. Dr. Shahid confessed to collecting explosives over two years alongside fellow doctors, planning nationwide attacks. The terror module has links to Al-Falah University, Faridabad.

Notably, Dr. Tajamul Ahmed Malik, employed at SMHS Hospital, Srinagar, was also arrested for his involvement in the Delhi Red Fort blast. Officials noted he conducted multiple reconnaissance operations near the blast site.

Further investigation revealed that Dr. Nisar-ul-Hassan, previously hired as a professor at Al-Falah University and earlier terminated by J&K LG Manoj Sinha on terrorism charges in 2023, is now untraceable amid the blast probe.

In a shocking case from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, a Hindu woman was drugged, sexually exploited, and blackmailed for religious conversion and marriage by a Muslim man, Aman Usmani, who had been posing as a Hindu. The accused befriended the victim while she worked at a computer shop near Bhagwan Talkies, concealing his true identity to gain her trust.

According to the FIR, Usmani offered her a cold drink laced with intoxicants, after which she lost consciousness. He then took obscene photos and videos of her to later use as leverage. When the victim refused his proposal and said her marriage was already fixed, he threatened to leak the images unless she converted to Islam and married him through Nikah. Terrified and harassed, the woman left her job and finally lodged a complaint at the Lohamandi Police Station.

2. Conversion bid exposed at Bilaspur, SECL employee arrested

A covert conversion attempt in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, was exposed after Hindu organisations intervened during a so-called Christian prayer gathering at Basant Vihar Colony. The event, hosted at the home of SECL employee Rajendra Khare, allegedly targeted Hindu men, women, and minors by denigrating Hindu deities and pushing them toward Christianity.

According to local activists, the meeting was presented as a harmless community prayer, but once people assembled, they were told Hindu gods were false and that salvation lay only in accepting Christianity. Hindu groups reached the spot, protested, and informed the Sarkanda police. Officers recovered Christian religious books and material used for the conversion pitch.

A case was registered under the Chhattisgarh Freedom of Religion Act, and Khare was arrested. Police said the investigation would expand to identify other individuals or networks involved.

The abduction was witnessed by another student, who alerted the school administration. The family immediately contacted police. Based on CCTV footage, local witness accounts, and technical surveillance, police later located the girl at a nearby farmhouse and recovered the vehicle used in the incident. Officers stated that the girl appeared mentally distressed at the time of recovery.

In the complaint, the family alleged that the same men had previously harassed the minor and made remarks comparing her religion unfavourably with theirs. They further alleged that the accused attempted to pressure her to accept another faith and threatened her with harm if she did not comply.

The FIR includes sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and relevant provisions of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. City Circle Officer Ankit Mishra confirmed that a case has been registered and search operations are underway to apprehend the accused.

4. Bihar prayer gathering sparks controversy over conversion attempts

A Christian prayer event held at a hall near Madhopur Chowk in Bihar Sharif drew police attention on 13 November 2025 after local activists alleged that Hindu attendees were being encouraged to convert under the guise of spiritual meetings.

The two-day gathering had seen participation from men, women, and children from multiple districts. Many of the attendees were Hindu women from financially weak families. According to statements given on-ground, several participants believed they were attending a prayer programme but later realised that the event included persuasion to adopt Christianity. Some women also said they had been assured of financial or medical assistance.

Members of Bajrang Dal reached the venue after receiving information about possible conversion activity. Their objections led to a brief commotion, following which police from Madhopur station arrived and brought the situation under control.

Police confirmed that a complaint has been filed and stated that further inquiry is underway.

The family stated that the accused concealed the fact that he was already married and had a domestic violence case pending against him. The woman’s mother alleged that the accused made her daughter bear the full expenses of an elaborate wedding setup, including jewellery, clothing, gifts, and ceremony arrangements worth approximately 22-25 lakh rupees.

The complaint notes that wedding rituals were completed at a palace in Banga before police intervened and declared the marriage invalid. The woman alleged that the family then forced her to give a statement calling it a live-in arrangement and took her to Moga, where she was subjected to physical exploitation for several days.

She further claimed that she was threatened to leave India and that 1,800 pounds were stolen from her purse on the way to the airport. Her family asserted that the accused refused to hand over wedding photos and videos to destroy evidence.

Based on the complaint, police registered a case under Section 87 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and began tracking the movements of both individuals. CCTV footage and multiple field checks helped narrow down the search. The mobile location eventually pointed to Manali, where a police team apprehended the accused.

The youth was produced before the court and sent to jail. The girl has been handed over to her family. Further investigation is in progress.

16.  Tension at Aligarh Court as woman faces protests

In Aligarh, a 25-year-old woman from Chharra, who had left with a man from the Muslim community last month, was unable to record her statement in court after protests broke out. The woman had arrived at the civil court to give her version in support of her companion. As soon as relatives and others learned she intended to speak in his favour, objections erupted in the premises.

The woman had gone missing on October 11, following which her father lodged a case against five individuals, including the man she left with. Police had been searching for her until she appeared at the court. She was sent to the One Stop Centre after her statement could not be recorded that day.

Chharra police brought her again to the CJM court for the formal statement. Her family reached the spot and opposed her decision. Some lawyers also intervened, leading to heated exchanges with police. Senior members of the Aligarh Bar Association arrived and attempted to calm the situation.

During the hour-long standoff, the woman’s health reportedly deteriorated. Police eventually took her back without recording the statement. Authorities will proceed with the process according to directions from senior officers.

The family lodged a formal complaint naming two men, identified in the case statement as Md San Majhi and an associate. According to the reporting, the girl was taken in broad daylight while walking to college with her mother, who witnessed the incident and attempted to stop the attackers.

Local accounts shared online say the abductors fled on a motorcycle within moments, leaving the family devastated. Despite the complaint and repeated appeals, no rescue or arrest has been reported after a full week. The delay has drawn sharp criticism from residents and minority-rights activists, who argue that the lack of visible progress has deepened anxiety among the area’s Hindu community.

3. Pressure to convert allegation by tribal student triggers police review in Sonbhadra

A tribal college student in Duddhi, Sonbhadra, has alleged that a neighbouring family repeatedly pressured her and her three sisters to convert to Islam and marry into their household. The allegations surfaced after the young woman and her family approached the Superintendent of Police, saying they felt unsafe due to the lack of visible action at the local level.

According to the complaint filed on November 7, the student said that several individuals from a neighbouring family, named in the FIR as Bahadur Ali, Naseemuddin, Azmat Ali, Razia Panika and Abdul Subhan, visited their home and urged the sisters to change their religion. She stated that the family was threatened with harm if they refused.

The student, who attends Bhau Rao Deoras Degree College, also alleged that she was followed in a four-wheeler by some of the accused on her way to college. She said they tried to harass her and force her into the vehicle, leading her to stop attending classes out of fear.

The family lives in a small tribal settlement, where the father, who is differently abled, earns a living by selling roasted grains. They told officials that they were under sustained pressure and had repeatedly sought help.

Police registered an FIR after the initial complaint. When the family claimed no progress had taken place, they took the matter directly to the SP. Based strictly on the published report, here’s the full account.

According to the complaint, the woman met the accused two years ago while she was in Indore for a professional course and searching for part-time work. The man introduced himself as Happy Punjabi, but police later identified him as Irfan Ali from Dewas.

She told police that he called her to a hotel on the pretext of helping her find a job and offered her a cold drink. She said she lost consciousness shortly after. When she woke up the next morning, she realised she had been assaulted and that the accused had recorded videos. The report states he then used those videos to blackmail her and repeatedly assaulted her in a rented room. She also alleged physical abuse, including being burned with cigarettes.

The woman said she initially discovered his real name only after a dispute with an auto driver led both of them to a police station. She returned home for some time, but after she came back to Indore, the accused allegedly took her to Dewas, assaulted her again, and forced an abortion when she became pregnant.

She further stated that he pressured her to adopt his religious practices, recite religious verses, fast, and wear specific attire. She alleged he threatened to kill her when she resisted.

A local organisation reportedly helped apprehend the accused by calling him to a location and handing him over to police. Indore police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act. Investigators say the accused has more than a dozen previous cases against him, mostly related to assault, and are checking whether he has links to drug activities.

November 15, 2025

1. Conversion bid exposed in Kushinagar

A quiet village in Kushinagar turned tense on the night of 15 November when residents discovered a Christian prayer gathering that, according to locals, was being used as a cover for converting Hindu families. The meeting took place inside a house in Kokilpatti around 8.15 pm. Villagers noticed outsiders arriving in the dark and suspected a targeted attempt to influence Hindu women and children.

They alerted members of VHP and Bajrang Dal, who reached the spot and called the police. Officers from Vishunpura station detained a few individuals, including Suresh of Kokilpatti and Omprakash of Ahirauli, and recovered Bibles during the intervention. The group denied any conversion attempt, claiming they had only come for healing prayers. Villagers disagreed, saying similar covert meetings had been happening for months and that videos from this particular gathering clearly hinted at conversion-linked activities.

The pattern looked familiar: late-night prayer sessions, outsiders entering the village, emotional persuasion framed as “healing,” and subtle pressure on vulnerable Hindu families. Minors were also present, raising further concern. Residents alleged that Hindu beliefs were demeaned during the session, a tactic often used in predatory proselytisation to weaken religious confidence and draw individuals toward another faith.

2. Maulvi arrested in Ankleshwar for rape and conversion pressure

A woman from Ankleshwar, Bharuch, approached police after a local madrasa maulvi drugged, assaulted and threatened her into converting. The accused, identified as Azwad (Azwad/Azmad) Bemat, 52, had come into contact with the woman through her friend. He soon began messaging and calling her frequently, building false trust.

3.  Love Jihad Case in Khandwa

At Khandwa district hospital, a security guard’s suspicion late Thursday evening led to the exposure of what police say was a coercive attempt to take a 20-year-old Hindu woman away for marriage and religious conversion. Two Muslim youths, Sahil and Faizan, were seen with her inside the hospital. When the guard questioned the situation, both men fled, leaving the woman distressed. Residents helped detain the duo until police arrived.

In her statement, the woman said she met Sahil around a week earlier when he accompanied a friend of hers at the hospital. He took her number and began calling repeatedly, expressing interest in marriage and insisting she convert to Islam. She refused. On the day of the incident, she had come to the hospital for a colleague’s work when the two men confronted her again. According to her complaint, they grabbed her hand, pressured her to come with them, and repeated the demand for conversion.

Sahil, during interrogation, claimed she was a “sister-like friend” of his fiancée and denied coercion. Police have dismissed this version for now and registered a case under the Religious Freedom Act along with sections of the Atrocities Act. Both accused are in custody, and investigators say they will present them before the court after completing the initial inquiry.
