In a major initiative to promote religious and cultural tourism, the Yogi Adityanath government is developing a grand Ramayana Park in Ayodhya, the sacred birthplace of Bhagwan Rama. Designed as an immersive cultural experience, the park will depict the key episodes of the Ramayana through life-sized sculptures and thematic installations. Among its many attractions, a 25-foot-tall statue of Ravana, portraying the legendary battle between Bhagwan Rama and Ravana, will be one of the central highlights.

According to officials, the park is being constructed near Guptar Ghat, a site of great religious significance believed to be the place where Bhagwan Rama took jal samadhi (water burial) after completing his earthly duties. The location itself adds deep spiritual meaning to the upcoming project, blending belief, devotion, and artistry in one expansive space.
The 25-foot statue of Ravana will form part of a larger tableau showcasing the climactic battle scene from the Ramayana. Surrounding this centrepiece will be statues of Bhagwan Rama, Hanuman, Sugriva, Vibhishana, and Angada, each carefully crafted to bring the epic’s grandeur to life. Through this depiction, visitors will be able to witness the intensity and moral depth of the legendary conflict between dharma (righteousness) and adharma (evil).
Ayodhya Mayor Girish Pati Tripathi emphasised that the park aims to present the divinity and timeless values of the Ramayana in an artistic and accessible manner. “Guptar Ghat holds immense religious significance as it is believed to be the site of Bhagwan Ram’s ‘jal samadhi’. The park is designed to reflect the divinity and grandeur of the Ramayana,” he said. The mayor added that another major attraction, the Ram Darbar, will feature magnificent statues of Bhagwan Ram, Maa Sita, and Bhagwan Lakshman, symbolising harmony, devotion, and ideal family values.
Officials also noted that the project seeks to blend spirituality with cultural tourism. Beyond being a devotional space, Ramayana Park is envisioned as a cultural landmark that narrates India’s most revered epic through art, sculpture, and storytelling. The park will likely include landscaped pathways, information panels, and guided tours to help visitors understand the significance of each episode portrayed.
The development of Ramayana Park aligns with the Uttar Pradesh government’s broader efforts to transform Ayodhya into a world-class spiritual and cultural destination. With the inauguration of the grand Ram Mandir approaching, initiatives like this aim to enhance the city’s tourism potential and provide visitors with a deeper, more experiential understanding of India’s mythological heritage.
Through its combination of artistic brilliance, spiritual symbolism, and cultural depth, Ramayana Park promises to be a major attraction for devotees and tourists alike.
