Guwahati: Assam witnessed a spectacular display of power and precision on a bright afternoon on November 9, as the Indian Air Force showcased what many called a true show of strength. The skies above the mighty Brahmaputra in Guwahati Lachit Ghat came alive with fighter jets, aerial maneuvers, and synchronized formations, leaving lakhs of spectators in awe of the nation’s air dominance and military preparedness.

On the 93rd Air Force Day, the Indian Air Force displayed power and precision as IAF staged its first air show in the largest city of Northeast India. The grand show took place in Lachi Ghat on the bank of river Brahmaputra, and the spectators witnessed a rare aerial superpower with more than 75 aircrafts from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm. 7 air force bases of the region- Guwahati, Tezpur, Jirhat, Chabua in Assam and Hasimara, Bagdogra and Panagarh in West Bengal participated in the spectacle show. The hightech show featured some of the most advance aircrafts of Indian Air Force (IAF) including Rafale, Sukhoi-30, MKI, Mirage, MiG-29, Apache Helicopters, IL-78 Refuellers. and heavy transport giants like C-17, Globemaster and C-130 Hercules.

Besides the giants, the Surya Kiran Aerobatics Team (SKAT) stole the spotlight of the grand show with their perfect synchronised formation and heart-stopping loops in the sky.

This year the Air Force Day is being celebrated with the theme of “Infalliable, Impervious and Precise” reflecting the superb operational excellence, discipline and resilience of the IAF, especially its dominance in the sky shown in recently conducted “Operation Sindoor” against enemy nation Pakistan.

Most importantly, IAF hosted such a spectacular show in Northeast making it a historic day for Assam and the entire region.

Besides lakhs of spectators including students, old age home residents and thousand others, Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, Chief Minister Himant Biswa Sarma along with his wife, Chief of the Air Staff Amar Preet Singh, top officials of the IAF, top officials of the state administration witnessed the mega show by the Indian air warriors.

Defence experts opined that the Air Show by the mighty Indian Air Force (IAF) on its 93rd foundation day is not just a display of perfection by its men and machines. The selection of the location is also very interesting.  The recent development in Bangladesh and the neighbouring country’s growing closeness to Pakistan and China is one of the reasons for selecting Guwahati as a place to showcase strength by the IAF.

Defence Experts believe that after showing complete dominance in the Operation Sindoor and hitting Pakistan deep inside its territory, IAF is now giving a clear warning to Bangladesh medical regime not to mess with India. Along with the western border, IAF is capable of hitting enemy establishments in its eastern border too, which was shown in the broad daylight over the mighty Brahmaputra by the IAF. The message is loud and clear, IAF is always ready to defend its territory and hit the enemy hard if needed.
