NEW DELHI: The counting of votes for the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) elections is currently underway. As per the results declared so far, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has delivered an outstanding performance, securing victory on 14 out of the 26 councillor seats announced to date. With these results, ABVP has positioned itself as the leading force in this year’s elections. ABVP has achieved a clean sweep in the School of Life Sciences, School of Biotechnology, and Special Centre for Molecular Medicine, winning all seats in these schools.
ABVP has secured 2 out of 3 seats in the School of Computer and Systems Sciences, 2 out of 4 in the School of Engineering, and 2 out of 3 in the School of Sanskrit and Indic Studies, along with victories in several other schools. These results reaffirm ABVP’s growing influence and organizational strength within the JNU campus.
Vote counting is still in progress for the School of Social Sciences, School of International Studies, School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies, and other faculties. Early trends indicate that ABVP candidates continue to maintain a strong and consistent lead in these schools as well.
ABVP has not only performed strongly at the school level but is also ahead on all four central posts — President, Vice-President, General Secretary, and Joint Secretary. Across the campus, ABVP activists and supporters are celebrating enthusiastically, marking victories in different schools with great energy and optimism.
Arun Srivastava, Chief Campaign Coordinator of ABVP JNU, said, “The results so far show that the student community of JNU has once again placed its trust in positivity, student welfare, and the idea of nation-building. ABVP’s lead reflects the credibility, dedication, and consistent commitment of the organization toward student interests, academic excellence, and constructive dialogue. This performance represents a victory of students’ trust, and in the coming days, the Parishad will continue to raise academic and welfare-related issues with even greater strength and determination.”
