Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh: “The situation in Manipur had deteriorated earlier, but peace is now returning, and the people there are hopeful. Sangh Swayamsevaks have also worked tirelessly to restore normalcy. No two communities of the same state should fight each other. The situation is improving, and both society and the Government are working to ensure complete normalcy,” said Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale while addressing the media on the concluding day of the Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal Baithak of the RSS.
During the meeting, discussions were held on key issues raised in the Vijayadashami address of Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat. The centenary year celebrations were organised in Nagpur, where former President Dr Ramnath Kovind was the chief guest. Delegations from several foreign countries also participated in the celebrations. The Dalai Lama also extended his greetings to the Sangh on this occasion.
Notably, on October 2, 2025, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh completed 100 years of its journey. Dattatreya Hosabale expressed gratitude to all individuals from the fields of Dharma, business industry, and various other sectors who conveyed their wishes to the Sangh on its centenary.
A total of 14,101 Sangh Swayamsevaks participated in the Path Sanchalan in Nagpur, with similar celebrations held across the country. He also expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the family members of all Sangh Swayamsevaks.
Dattatreya Hosabale said that the celebrations organised across Bharat during the centenary year reflect the widespread expansion of the Sangh’s work. The Sangh currently has 59,343 Mandals across the country, of which programmes were held in 50,096 Mandals, while 37,250 witnessed large participation.
There are 40,686 bastis in mahanagar and nagar areas, and programmes were held in 40,220 of them. Additionally, 6,700 other events were organised, with a total of 62,555 Vijayadashami celebrations taking place across Bharat, 80 per cent of which were held on the same day, he informed.
In Path Sanchalans, 32,45,141 Swayamsevaks participated in ganvesh, with a total of 25,45,500 taking part across 25,000 locations throughout the nation. These included all regions from Ladakh to the tribal, coastal, and hilly areas and saw participation from people of all sections of society, he said.
He added that most of the participants in the Path Sanchalan were below 40 years of age, which shows how the younger generation is increasingly connecting with the RSS. No community was left out from participating in these events, he stated.
During this Baithak, it was also informed that in the past year, Sangh activities have begun in 9,626 new locations, and currently, there are 55,052 daily shakhas. There are also 32,262 weekly meetings. The Sangh’s work has also expanded significantly in tribal regions.
The Baithak also discussed preparations for upcoming RSS Shatabdi Varsh initiatives such as the Griha Sampark Abhiyan, Hindu Sammelans, Sadbhav Baithaks, and Pramukh Jan Sangoshthis. A review of the recent Vijayadashami celebrations was also undertaken, alongside discussions on the contemporary national and social situation.
A total of 80,000 Hindu Sammelans will be organised in the coming period, 45,000 in rural areas and 35,000 in urban regions. Under the Griha Sampark Abhiyan, Swayamsevaks aim to connect with crores of families.
The Griha Sampark Abhiyan will continue for 25–40 days across different Prants. During this period, Swayamsevaks will visit homes, explain the Panch Parivartan initiative, share information about Sangh’s activities, and distribute literature related to the Sangh.
Earlier, on October 31, a statement was issued by Dattatreya Hosabale marking the 350th martyrdom year of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and the 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda. He said that programmes dedicated to these great personalities will be organised across the country, with Swayamsevaks actively participating.
He also mentioned that this year marks 150 years of Vande Mataram. Rabindranath Tagore had sung this song during a Congress session for the first time. In 1975, committees were formed across the country to celebrate the song’s centenary, but due to the Emergency, programmes could not be held at that time. “Now we must tell the younger generation about its significance,” he said.
“Vande Mataram is not merely a song; it is the mantra of Bharat’s soul. It holds a place of honour in the Constitution alongside the National Anthem. Every citizen should understand its meaning.” A statement on this occasion was also released, he informed.
He further stated that in recent times, states like Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, which earlier witnessed Naxal activities, are now witnessing positive change. “Many have surrendered and are returning to normal life. Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat had also mentioned this in his Vijayadashami address. Society must show compassion towards the underprivileged, and the Sangh is working towards this. Those who are returning to the constitutional path should be welcomed,” he said.
Another issue discussed in the meeting was the growing menace of drugs and addiction, especially among the youth. “While our youth are patriotic, technologically skilled, and globally competitive, they are also falling prey to drugs, even in institutions like AIIMS and IITs, university hostels, and border states. Society must protect the new generation from this menace. The Sangh’s Kutumb Prabodhan initiative, along with organisations like VHP and ABVP, is working actively in this direction. In the coming days, more efforts will be made to protect people from drug addiction,” he informed.
Hosabale added, “Whoever works in the national interest, regardless of their field, is contributing to Bharat’s development and social harmony. The Sangh considers all such work as its own. Hence, we are holding Pramukh Nagrik Gosthis to strengthen the nation’s collective consciousness.”
On the issue of religious conversions, he said, “The Sangh discussed the need to stop forced conversions and to do ghar wapsi. In tribal areas and in Punjab, where conversions are taking place through coercion or allurements, Swayamsevaks are working for Dharma Jagran. In recent times, conversions within the Sikh community in Punjab have increased. There is awareness about it, but more efforts are needed, including outreach to those who have converted.”
When asked about Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s remark that RSS should be banned, Hosabale said, “Such attempts have been made earlier too. Even then, the Sangh’s work continued to grow, and courts have declared such bans unconstitutional. Those demanding a ban cannot even state a valid reason for it. Society has always neglected such baseless demands.”
On the rise in live-in relationships, he said, “Such practices are not a part of our culture and tradition, nor do people support them. These issues cannot be stopped merely through laws; they must be addressed through social and cultural awakening. When there is good conduct and strong values within families, such tendencies will automatically come to an end.”
Replying to a question on the situation in West Bengal, he said, “The situation in Bengal is quite grave and has worsened due to the violent politics being played there. Since the last elections (2022), the condition has deteriorated further. Bengal, being a border state, also faces challenges due to illegal infiltration from Bangladesh, aggravating the situation. Bengal has always been a guiding light for the nation, and its present state is an injustice to Bharat. The people of Bengal are ready for change, and Sangh Swayamsevaks are working for social harmony there. However, it is unfortunate that miscreants continue to receive support from the government.”
He further said that education and health should not be done as business, and for this, the Government must bring proper rules and regulations. Sangh Swayamsevaks are working on both these issues.
The Baithak was attended by RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat, all six Sah-Sarkaryavahs, Akhil Bharatiya Karyavibhag Pramukhs, and members of the Karyakarini (Executive Body). It was also attended by all Prant Sanghchalaks, Prant Karyavahs, Pracharaks, Sah-Prant Sanghchalaks, Sah-Prant Karyavahs, and Sah-Pracharaks from all 46 Prants of the Sangh structure. A total of 397 Karyakartas participated in the Baithak.
Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh of RSS Sunil Ambekar, along with Akhil Bharatiya Sah-Prachar Pramukhs Narendra Thakur and Pradeep Joshi, were also present during the press conference.
