Bengaluru: BJP MP Tejasvi Surya launched a blistering attack on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the Congress government, accusing them of presiding over total administrative collapse, corruption and misplaced priorities. Speaking at the BJP office in Malleshwaram, Surya said, “Before making such comments about me, the Chief Minister should at least know the difference between the sun and the moon, between new moon and full moon. The sun is always there; it’s the moon that disappears on new moon day. Siddaramaiah should understand this basic fact before commenting on me.”
He said the Chief Minister had repeatedly resorted to personal attacks unbecoming of his position. “Siddaramaiah has often made personal remarks against me. During elections too, he did the same. I have never indulged in personal criticism. It’s not in our culture or our party’s values,” Surya said, adding that the CM’s statements reflected arrogance and ignorance.
Attacking the Congress government’s record, Surya said, “Siddaramaiah’s administration is under eclipse. There isn’t a single road without potholes. The state of Bengaluru’s roads is proof of how well this government functions. Every week there are murders and rapes in the city, yet the CM remains silent. The Home Minister is busy explaining betting controversies, and the IT Minister is obsessed with banning RSS instead of attracting companies.”
Surya alleged that under Congress rule, Karnataka’s image as a tech and investment hub was fast eroding. “Because of the government’s incompetence, major companies like Google AI are hesitating to invest here. The IT sector is losing trust. Instead of creating jobs, the ministers are focused on politics of hate and appeasement,” he said.

He further accused the government of diverting public funds for political use. “The Congress is using the state’s revenue to fill its party coffers. When BJP left office, we handed over a surplus budget. Now, they have turned it into a deficit. Their own MLAs are complaining that development funds are being withheld. All money is being drained into guarantee schemes that don’t empower people but make them dependent,” he alleged.
Referring to the tunnel road project in Bengaluru, Surya said, “We will not allow this tunnel project to proceed. The DPR itself is flawed, and the Urban Development Department’s expert committee has flagged concerns. This project only benefits the rich car owners and destroys Lalbagh’s geological heritage. Breaking billion-year-old rock formations for a vanity project is environmental crime. We are opposing it on principle, not for politics. People have already signed over one lakh petitions online. I have also filed a PIL in the High Court.”
He criticized the state for denying permission to RSS events while trying to impose arbitrary restrictions. “In Chittapur, the government tried to suspend an RSS march, but the High Court said the nation runs on Ambedkar’s Constitution, not on your whims. The RSS stands for discipline and national pride; anyone can learn from that,” he said.

Demanding transparency, Surya urged the government to release a white paper on the state’s finances. “Let Siddaramaiah disclose how much debt Karnataka has, how much interest is being paid, what revenue was before GST, and how much is being spent on development. We want facts, not rhetoric. Let there be a public debate on their governance,” he said.
Targeting senior Congress leader B.K. Hariprasad, Surya remarked, “Even after 1947, the Congress still promotes a two-nation mindset. There is no such thing in the Constitution as Hindu or Muslim areas. Yet in some localities, police dare not enter, and laws are applied selectively. This divisive thinking will destroy Karnataka’s social fabric”.
Concluding his fiery speech, Surya said, “Karnataka is drowning in debt, government employees are unpaid, and women’s safety is under threat. Bengaluru’s infrastructure has collapsed, and companies are leaving. This is the Congress government’s real report card. The eclipse that has gripped the state will lift soon — when people throw this corrupt government out”.
