US: BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in New Jersey dazzles community with spectacular fireworks display on Deepawali night

Deepawali was celebrated with grandeur at BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham Mandirs in both New Jersey and Delhi. The festivities included vibrant fireworks in the US and traditional rituals like Bahipujan in India

On October 20, the BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham Mandir in New Jersey celebrated Deepawali with a dazzling fireworks display. The sky above the Mandir in Robbinsville lit up with vibrant fireworks as the community came together to celebrate Deepawali, which also marked the beginning of their New Year.

Sharing a video on X, Akshardham USA wrote: “As fireworks filled the air at BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham, the community came together to celebrate Deepawali and welcome Nutan Varsh (New Year), carrying with them the joy of the festival and the hope of a new beginning.”

Meanwhile, in India, ‘Bahipujan’ was performed at the Swaminarayan Akshardham Mandir in Delhi on October 20. Speaking to ANI, Dr Madhvi Gohel, a member of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, said, “The grand festival of Deepawali is being celebrated here today. As part of the festivities, Bahipujan was conducted to seek the blessings of Maa Lakshmi and to pray for prosperity and success in business for traders.”
