A 51-foot-tall statue of Bhagwan Ram has been unveiled in Mississauga, Canada, now standing as the tallest monument dedicated to the deity in North America.
The statue was crafted by acclaimed sculptor Naresh Kumar Kumawat at the Matu Ram Art Centre in Manesar, India. It was shipped to Canada in several parts and later assembled on-site by a team of engineers from the United States.
Constructed from fibreglass and steel, materials commonly used in the aerospace industry, the structure combines durability with intricate artistry. Its inauguration was marked by a vibrant ceremony attended by members of the local community and prominent dignitaries, reflecting the statue’s deep cultural significance.

Among the political leaders in attendance were Rechie Valdez, Minister of Women and Gender Equality; Shafqat Ali, President of the Treasury Board; and Maninder Sidhu, Minister of International Trade.
Speaking from the Hindu Heritage Centre, where the statue has been installed, the founder highlighted the growing interest from visitors across North America.
“We’re seeing a significant increase in footfall, with devotees travelling from as far as New York and New Jersey. Many are coming not only to visit the Mandir but also to witness the tallest Bhagwan Ram statue in Canada,” they shared.
Minister Maninder Sidhu called the installation of the tallest Bhagwan Ram statue in North America “something to be very proud of.” Acharya Surinder Sharma Shastri, founder and head priest of the Hindu Heritage Centre, shared that the statue’s unveiling was more than just a symbolic milestone. “The installation of this murti is not just a moment of pride, it is a spiritual gift to the community, a reminder that righteousness must always guide our path,” he said.
Event organiser Kushagr Sharma reflected on the significance of the occasion: “Over 10,000 people came together in devotion and unity to unveil Shri Ram’s 51-foot-tall murti. It’s not only a celebration of our faith, but a proud moment for all Canadians who value cultural harmony and spiritual heritage.”
He also noted the statue’s growing visibility, adding that aircraft descending into Mississauga’s Toronto Pearson International Airport pass low over the Mandir. “Soon, the towering figure of Bhagwan Ram will be one of the first sights to greet arriving passengers,” he said.
