Sensational turn in the mysterious death of singer Zubeen Garg. The arrested bandmate, Shekhar Jyoti Goswami of deceased singer Zubeen Garg, has revealed some sensational facts in the SIT interrogation. The arrest memo of SIT, which has been leaked, revealed many conspiracies behind the untimely death of popular Assamese singer Zubeen Garg.
The arrest memo comprising 7 points explains the reason for the arrests of 4 accused related to the death of Zubeen Garg.
The arrest memo stated that, as per the confession of the arrested Goswami, a conspiracy was formulated before the mysterious death of Zubeen Garg to portray it as an accident. Goswami stated that Zubeen Garg’s manager, Sidharth Sarma, who shared a room with him at the Pan Pacific hotel in Singapore, had displayed suspicious conduct.
The accused further stated that Zubeen’s manager, Sidharth Sharma, took control of the yacht mid-sea from its crew, causing it to wobble dangerously and thereby endangering all passengers onboard. The arrested manager also instructed the yacht party organiser not to arrange any liquor for the celebrity singer and said he would provide him with drinks himself. Arrested Goswami further said in the SIT interrogation that during the critical time when Zubeen Garg was grasping for breath and almost drowning, his manager asked all to let him swim more. Shekhar Goswami further claimed that the arrested Shyamkanu Mahanta, the organiser of the Northeast Festival in Singapore, and Zubeen’s manager, Sidharth Sharma, have poisoned the popular singer and deliberately chose a foreign location to conceal their conspiracy. The manager also instructed Goswami not to release the yacht video to anyone. Moreover, when Zubeen Garg was frothing at the mouth and nose, his manager, Sharma, dismissed it as acid reflux and assured others that there was nothing to worry about. Instead of providing necessary medical treatment, he facilitated the early demise of singer Zubeen Garg.
Meanwhile, the SIT has handed over the post-mortem report of Zubeen Garg conducted in Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on September 23, before his last rites, at the demand of his family. Similarly, a few more people were questioned by the SIT today in connection with the case. Meanwhile, the CID, Assam police, has written to ED to conduct an enquiry into the economic offences of the arrested main accused, Shyamkanu Mahanta. Meanwhile, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma is slated to meet Zubeen Garg’s wife, Garima Saikia Garg, this evening. Earlier, CM Sarma, in a social media post on October 3, alleged that those opposed to the BJP government due to the state government’s eviction drives are attempting to create unrest in Assam, using Zubeen Garg’s untimely demise as a shield.
A section of people is instigating others on social media and even circulating fake videos and pictures to incite anger among the public. Simultaneously, the state government has constituted a judicial commission headed by a sitting judge of the Guwahati High Court, Saumitra Saikai, to probe the death of the popular singer. The judicial commission will submit its report to the state government within six months.
