On the sacred occasions of Mahanavami and Vijayadashami 2025, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath underlined the profound cultural and spiritual importance of Navratri, highlighting that the festival embodies deep reverence for the divine power of women. Speaking to devotees after performing Kanya Pujan at the historic Gorakhnath Temple, where he also serves as the head of Gorakshpeeth, the CM emphasized that women’s energy, or “Shakti,” has always been central to Sanatan traditions. He also reiterated that the state government is committed to protecting women’s rights and dignity while promoting their empowerment in social, economic, and political spheres.

CM Yogi drew attention to the fifth phase of Mission Shakti which was launched on September 22, the first day of Sharadiya Navratri 2025. It focuses on enhancing women’s safety and self-reliance at the Panchayat level. CM Yogi praised the initiative as a significant achievement, pointing out that it has shown good results across all districts of the state. He stated, “A society gains dignity and pride when daughters are safe and respected,” highlighting Uttar Pradesh’s leading role in setting a national example for women-centric governance.

CM Yogi pointed out India’s rich tradition of respecting women, saying that for generations, daughters, mothers, and sisters have been honored and valued in society. He added that Indian women today continue to achieve remarkable success worldwide across education, governance, science, sports, and entrepreneurship. Empowering women, he emphasized, is not just a governmental aim but a moral responsibility ingrained in Sanatan Dharma.

The Chief Minister also highlighted several welfare schemes for women and girls. These include Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Matri Vandana, Kanya Sumangala Yojana, and the state’s mass marriage assistance programs. Under the Kanya Sumangala Yojana, financial support of Rs 25,000 is provided to girls from birth until graduation, ensuring educational and social empowerment. Additionally, the state government has increased financial assistance under the mass marriage scheme to Rs 1 lakh per couple, easing the economic burden on underprivileged families.

Welcoming the enactment of the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, CM Yogi noted that it ensures greater representation of women in democratic institutions, further strengthening their role in governance and public life. He also shared that 1.55 crore women in Uttar Pradesh are receiving an annual pension of Rs 12,000, while 26 lakh daughters are benefiting from the Kanya Sumangala Yojana, showcasing the state’s commitment to women’s welfare at a large scale.

Extending greetings on Vijayadashami 2025, UP CM Yogi described the festival as a symbol of the eternal victory of righteousness over evil, justice over injustice, and morality over oppression. CM Yogi explained that the burning of Ravana’s effigy signifies the destruction of arrogance and evil, while the coronation of Bhagwan Shri Ram represents the triumph of truth, dharma, and moral order. Through his remarks, CM Yogi conveyed the lasting message of Vijayadashami, that the union of Shakti and moral valor is essential for building a just, balanced, and thriving society.
