Vijayadashami Utsav, observed annually by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), carried added significance this year as it marked the organisation’s centenary. Across Bhagyanagar, the Utsav was observed at multiple venues, with spirited participation and addresses by senior functionaries and invited guests highlighting the organisation’s 100-year journey.
At Badangpet, the Utsav was held at Tirumala Gardens with Dr. Jagannath Nayak, DRDO Distinguished Scientist, as the chief guest. He spoke on the glory of Vijaya Dashami, linking it to the vision of Atma Nirbhar Bharat. Recalling Operation Sindhur, he explained how science crushed enemy forces and how Yoga-driven personal development contributed to national strength.
RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar addressed the gathering, noting that as RSS enters its centenary, it continues to stand firm in safeguarding the cultural heritage of the nation despite many challenges over the past century. He called upon society to face destructive forces “like Rama’s arrow” and stressed that both science and AI must be harnessed for the nation’s benefit.
At My Home Avatar, Narsingi, the Utsav drew 371 participants, including swayamsevaks, youth, women and children. Retd. IPS officer J.D. Lakshminarayana in his speech said: “The world bows before power, but only when it is Dharma Shakti does it lead to universal welfare. Vijaya Dashami is the symbol of the victory of Satvik Shakti. RSS, which started its journey on this very day, is now stepping into its 100th year building such Satvik strength in society.”
Ayush N, Kshetra Prachar Pramukh, delivered the Bouddhik, explaining Dr. Hedgewar’s vision behind the founding of RSS in 1925. He analysed causes of national decline such as disunity and lack of discipline, and emphasised the role of shakhas in building disciplined individuals who strengthen family, society and the nation. He also highlighted how shakhas in modern gated communities are uniting families and instilling discipline, unity, patriotism and cultural values.
At Hyderabad Central University, the Utsav was attended by 112 participants, including over 100 men and 14 women. RSS Telangana Prantha Pracharak Lingam Sridhar addressed the gathering, stressing that RSS is “not against any ideology” but represents a universal thought, welcoming all. He urged citizens to dedicate time for the nation and highlighted the duties that come with selfhood and responsibility.
Across all three events, speakers underlined the guiding framework of Pancha Parivartan – social harmony, family enlightenment, environmental protection, cultural pride, and civic responsibility – as the pathway for holistic national transformation as the RSS steps into its centenary.
According to sources, RSS Telangana is marking the centenary with over 4,000 Vijaya Dashami Utsavs across the state. The celebrations are being organised at the grassroots level, treating a population of about 10,000 as a unit—either on a basti-wise basis in towns or by grouping 2–3 villages into an upa-mandal. Local swayamsevaks are leading these events, which have been underway since 22 September.
