Kochi, 26 September – “Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Keralathil” (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in Kerala), the first volume of the history of RSS in Kerala, was formally released at Madhav Nivas, in Kochi on September 27.
The book was released by senior RSS Pracharak S. Sethumadhavan, who handed over the first copy to noted scientist, acclaimed author and Sahitya Akademi award winner C. Radhakrishnan. The function was presided over by Justice (Retd.) M.R. Hariharan Nair.
Speaking on the occasion, S. Sethumadhavan said the publication of history of RSS in Kerala was the outcome of the dedicated efforts of several swayamsevaks and described it as an exemplary reference work.
Justice Hariharan Nair expressed his happiness at being part of what he termed an “auspicious occasion”, while C. Radhakrishnan said he felt fortunate to receive the first copy of the book.
The gathering was also addressed by Swami Vivikthananda Saraswati, regional head of the Chinmaya Mission, Kerala, and Dr. M. Lakshmikumari, Director of the Vivekananda Vedic Vision, Kodungallur.
Prominent figures who graced the dais included M.A. Krishnan, senior Sangh Pracharak in Kerala, former editor of Kesari weekly, founder of Tapasya (Kerala chapter of Samskar Bharati), and founder of Balagokulam; P. Narayanan, former State Organising Secretary of Bharatiya Jana Sangh, former Chief Editor of Janmabhumi daily, and columnist-author; as well as Adv. P. Vijayakumar, Kochi Mahanagar Sanghchalak.
Introducing the book to the audience, K.P. Radhakrishnan, RSS Dakshin Kshetriya Sah-Boudhik Pramukh, outlined its significance and scholarly contribution.
The release was attended by a large number of swayamsevaks, representing different age groups, marking a moment of pride and reflection for the Sangh in Kerala.
