Forced Religious Conversion: Yasin Khan brainwashes 13-year-old Hindu girl, converts her to Islam arrested by UP Police

A shocking case of grooming, forced conversion, and violence has emerged from Sultanpur district in Uttar Pradesh, where a 13-year-old Hindu girl was targeted by her neighbor, Yasin Khan. For nearly a year, Khan allegedly manipulated, threatened, and pressured the teenager to embrace Islam and accept him as her husband. Matters escalated dangerously on September 16, 2025, when the accused openly declared the girl as his wife in a public park and, along with his associates, launched a violent attack on her father when he tried to intervene.

The victim’s father, a resident of Godwa village, recounted the harrowing sequence of events in his complaint to police. His daughter, a ninth-grade student, had not returned home on the afternoon of September 16. Alarmed, the family began searching for her, eventually locating her in the Environment Park of Sultanpur, where she was seen standing with Khan and a group of his friends.

When the father called his daughter to return home, Khan brazenly declared that the girl no longer belonged to her family. “She is not your daughter anymore. She has converted to Islam. Her name is now Rukhsar. She is my wife, and I will marry her,” Khan reportedly told the father.

What followed was a shocking display of violence. As the father tried to rescue his daughter, Khan and his associates launched a brutal attack on him. The victim’s father sustained serious injuries, including damage near his eye and wounds to his hand. Witnesses say the assault drew the attention of bystanders, forcing the accused and his friends to flee. However, in a dramatic turn, the father managed to capture Yasin Khan and hand him over to the police.

In his statement, the father revealed that Khan had been targeting his daughter for nearly a year. He accused him of using coercion, manipulation, and threats to brainwash the minor into accepting Islam and preparing for a forced marriage. “He has been coaxing and threatening my daughter for the past year. He told her she is now Rukhsar and that she belongs to him,” the father alleged in the FIR.

The Sultanpur police acted swiftly after the complaint. Dheeraj Kumar, Inspector-in-Charge of Kotwali Nagar, confirmed that a case has been registered against Khan and his accomplices under stringent provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act (UPPRIB) as well as relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The FIR has invoked:

  • Sections 137(2), 87, 351(2), and 351(3) of UPPRIB
  • Sections 137(2) and 87(3) of IPC

Police confirmed that while Khan has been taken into custody, his associates are on the run. Search operations are underway to nab them. The teenage girl is currently receiving counseling to recover from the trauma.
