New Delhi: The candidates of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) for the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections have appealed to the students of Delhi University to ensure 100 per cent voting in the upcoming elections scheduled for September 18. Aryan Mann, candidate for President; Govind Tanwar, candidate for Vice President; Kunal Chaudhary, candidate for Secretary; and Deepika Jha, candidate for Joint Secretary, stated that this election is not merely about organizations or candidates, but a celebration of student participation.
This year, the nature of the DUSU election campaign has been particularly unique. In compliance with the guidelines issued by the Delhi High Court, ABVP workers and candidates adopted innovative methods of outreach. They conveyed messages to students by writing names on leaves and maximised the use of digital platforms. Campaign messages were widely disseminated through Instagram reels, Facebook live sessions, posts on ‘X’, and other social media platforms.
As per the model code of conduct, the physical campaigning concluded today at 8 a.m., but ABVP’s digital campaign continues vigorously on social media. The DUSU elections will be conducted on September 18, and the results will be declared the following day, September 19.
ABVP Delhi State Secretary Sarthak Sharma said:
“The Delhi University Students’ Union elections are a festival for DU students. We appeal to all students to ensure 100% voting and make this festival a success. We are confident that the overwhelming support of students will ensure a decisive victory for all four ABVP candidates and provide the university with a strong and effective students’ union.”
