Earlier security was beefed up in the State following operation Sindoor. Security agencies are also keeping a vigil watch at the Nepal border which touches several districts of the State.
Notably, the State shares a long and open border with Nepal with several of its districts including Sitamarhi, Supaul, East and West Champaran etc. sharing its northern border with Nepal.
The bordering areas particularly in the north have been long considered a hotspot for various unlawful activities ranging from smuggling activities to supply of fake currencies, posing significant challenges to the security agencies.
