On the second day of the 100 Years of Sangh Yatra, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat delivered a wide-ranging address that touched upon the organisation’s vision for Bharat and its role in addressing global challenges. Emphasizing unity among Hindus, the importance of Dharma as a guiding principle for peace and balance, and the need for self-reliance rooted in Swadeshi, Bhagwat cautioned against radicalism, wokeism, and unchecked consumerism. He called for character-building, harmony across caste and community lines, and a collective effort to present Bharat as a model society capable of guiding the world towards stability and moral strength
- There is a positive environment today. Still, a Swayamsevak thinks that positivity does not mean he should stop; he must keep going. Our goal is to unite Hindus, even if there are disagreements. There is no incentive in Sangh, but Swayamsevaks do their work because they enjoy what they do. They draw inspiration from the fact that their work is dedicated to the welfare of the world.
- Radicalism is growing… Wokeism is one of the biggest threats to the world… Environmental degradation is also a significant concern stemming from human dissatisfaction. The solution lies in Dharma, which is not a religion. Dharma respects diversity, including respect for the environment… Dharma talks about balance … And Bharat can give solution to this modern challenge the world is facing right now.
- Our Dharma is Vishva Dharma, and it can bring peace to the world.
- Dharma does not seek to convert others… The Bharatiya lifestyle can set an example for the world to emulate.
- Bharat has always helped without thinking about its interest … Bharat has also helped those who were against it… From individual life to environmental issues, Bharatiya society will have to set an example.
- What is the way forward? What we do in the Sangh should extend to the entire society. Our responsibility is to build character and foster a more patriotic society. In the media, there is a lot of negative news… However, this is not the case… More than 40 per cent of good things are happening in Bharat, contrary to what is shown in the media. Therefore, Bharat should not be seen through the prism of media coverage.
- Nobody remains untouched, from the poorest to the wealthiest, in every village and household in the country. A mechanism will soon have to be developed
- They must be connected with Sangh Shakha, or even those working for the society, should be connected with the Shakha.
- Positivity is essential in life. There is so much diversity in our country. Many religious sects and ideologies came from outside due to invasions; they remain in our country. Ideologies can be from outside. However, the divisions that have emerged in our society should be resolved, and we should further explore ways to strengthen the unity of the country.
- There is a conflict in our minds. If, after seeing someone, their caste comes to our mind, this is problematic, and this mindset must change. So wherever we live or work, we should be friendly with everyone and must accept them as our own. Water, crematoriums, and temples are for everyone, and there should be no discrimination among them.
- ‘Man-to-man contact, heart-to-heart talk’ when this will happen, real change will happen.
- Atmanirbharta, or Swadeshi, is important. Being Atmanirbhar (Self-reliant) does not mean stopping imports altogether. The world moves because it is interdependent. So export-import will continue. However, there should be no pressure in it. Swadeshi means not importing goods that we already have or can easily manufacture. Importing goods from outside hurts local vendors.
- The Sangh does not take credit for the work it does. Sangh wants Bharatiya society to take this country to a level that brings about significant changes to the world.
- Hinduness can be explained in two words: Truth and Love. Human relations cannot be based solely on contracts and business.
- The world runs on familiarity, not on contracts.
- Individuals of each country should learn life lessons from Bharat
- The one that emanates misery cannot be Dharma
- In the last 300 years, extreme individualism and crass consumerism have evolved and gone to the extreme, because of which the world has forgotten the virtues.
