New Delhi: Under the leadership of ABVP, students of Delhi University held protests in all colleges against irregularities, with massive participation from students. Students raised their voices against several issues affecting academic life. Despite being one of the most prestigious institutions in the nation, Delhi University students continue to struggle even for basic facilities.
During the protest, students placed several demands before the college administrations. These included: withdrawal of the Rs 1 lakh election bond, as it prevents ordinary students from contesting students’ union elections and goes against democratic principles; rollback of fee hikes; provision of safe drinking water; ensuring violence-free campuses; stronger security for female students; better sports facilities with proper equipment and coaches; and transparency in Internal Complaint Committees (ICC). Across almost every college of Delhi University, students registered strong protests on these issues, submitted memorandums to principals, and demanded immediate action within a fixed timeline.
ABVP Delhi State Secretary Sarthak Sharma said, “Today, ‘One-Day All College Protest’ was held across Delhi University, where the fundamental problems faced by students were placed before the administrations, with a demand for urgent action. The main issues included withdrawal of the Rs 1 lakh election bond policy, a halt to fee hikes, and ensuring transparency in Internal Complaint Committees. ABVP has always raised the voice of students and remains committed to resolving these issues.”
