Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari (Delhi Branch) has launched the 9th Season of its flagship youth program “Young India: Know Thyself”- A leadership Development program on Sunday, 17th August, at its centre — Vivekananda International Foundation, Chanakyapuri.
Nikhil Yadav, Deputy Head, Vivekananda Kendra Uttar Prant, and mentor of the program informed that the program, initiated in 2017, aims to inspire the younger generation towards a purposeful and spiritual way of life in the light of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings. Over the past eight years, Young India: Know Thyself has reached 1.25 lakh students across Delhi-NCR. Among them, nearly 3,000 youth have attended the one-day camps, while over 1000 participants have completed the intensive five-day residential camp. He added this year, our youth volunteers will connect with students in more than 40 colleges of Delhi University and other major institutes of Delhi. Through this initiative, we are aiming to reach out to around 20,000 young people. In the launch event more than 120 youth and faculty members of across educational institutes participated.
The program is open to all youth between the ages of 16 and 25 years, and follows a structured four-stage process:
Registration – Conducted in colleges through one-to-one interactions with students on campus.
Online Test – A 40-question test based on Indian culture, civilisation, and the life of Swami Vivekananda, to assess awareness and sincerity.
Workshop – Selected students are invited to the Vivekananda International Foundation for a day-long workshop consisting of games, group discussions, presentations, and skits designed to evaluate teamwork, discipline, and initiative.
Residential Camp – Final participants undergo a five-day residential camp with 16 hours of daily activities, including yoga, Surya Namaskar, martial spirit training (Agyabhyas), intellectual sessions, group discussions, Vedic chanting, and cultural activities.
The program is uniquely designed to develop all dimensions of personality — physical, mental, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual. Participants get an immersive experience of living an ideal and purposeful life, in harmony with India’s timeless cultural values.
