Gallantry awards will be announced on Independence Day for defence personnel recognised for their exceptional bravery during Operation Sindoor, a senior Defence official stated.
The success of Operation Sindoor will be prominently celebrated during this year’s Independence Day festivities, with its logo featured on the view cutter at Gyanpath and themed floral decorations.
Defence personnel chosen for gallantry awards will be seated at the Red Fort ramparts, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to deliver his address to the nation. His speech is expected to highlight the achievements of Operation Sindoor and the valour of the armed forces.
This year’s Independence Day celebrations will commemorate “the continuing rise of a prosperous, secure, and bold ‘Naya Bharat’,” reflecting the government’s vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047, the Ministry of Defence stated. The celebrations, it added, aim to “provide renewed power to surge further ahead on the path to progress.”
A special highlight will be a flypast by the Indian Air Force over the Red Fort, featuring three helicopters flying in formation—carrying the National Flag and the Operation Sindoor flag. As in previous years, flower petals will be showered over the gathered audience.
This year’s invitations also bear the Operation Sindoor logo in the top right corner. Replacing the Central Vista image, a sketch of the recently inaugurated Chenab railway bridge, connecting the Kashmir Valley to the rest of the country by rail for the first time, features prominently at the centre.
