Kreeda Bharati has launched a nationwide initiative to spark meaningful conversations around Indian values in sports. With a goal of conducting 100 seminars across the country, the campaign began with a grand inaugural event at the Constitution Club of India, Jaipur on August 10. Insights from the Seminar
“True Competition Leads to Inner Growth” – Prafulla Ketkar
Prafulla Ketkar emphasised that certain foreign influences are attempting to erode the Bharatiya perspective on sports. He cautioned against the commercialisation of sports under the guise of professionalisation, which often distorts the original Bharatiya ethos and rules of traditional games.
He asserted that competition should be a path to spiritual and inner development, aligning with the ideals promoted by Kreeda Bharati. “Sports should be a form of sadhana (dedicated practice), not a means for selfish gains,” he said.
“Bharat is Now Winning Medals in Numbers” – K K Vishnoi
Minister K K Vishnoi noted that Bharat has made significant strides in removing negative narratives about Bharatiya identity, particularly in sports. He cited initiatives like Khelo India and Khelo Rajasthan as vital platforms for youth advancement.
“Bharat is now seeing a surge in medal wins, thanks to proactive government efforts,” he stated, adding that the Rajasthan government has made special budgetary provisions for sports development. He also emphasised the importance of youth engagement in environmental and national service activities, expressing support for Kreeda Bharati’s mission.
“Building Character and Patriotism Through Sports” – Gopal Saini
National President Gopal Saini underscored the importance of nurturing not just athletes, but character-driven, patriotic role models. He stressed that instilling Bharatiya values in sports is essential to creating players who inspire national pride and unity.
