The Bhopal crime branch has unearthed a massive criminal nexus that has operated for over five decades, exposing shocking details of drug trafficking, sexual exploitation, and organised rave parties targeting Hindu girls. The kingpin, Yasin Machli, along with his uncle Shahwar Machli, has been arrested following a high-stakes investigation. The case has widened further with the arrest of a Congress leader’s son, Anshul Singh, who was part of the gang’s core operations.

Targeting Hindu Girls and Rave Party Nexus

According to crime branch officials, Yasin Machli specifically targeted Hindu girls, trapping them in relationships, luring them to rave parties, and later forcing them to deliver drugs. These victims were allegedly blackmailed and sexually exploited. During raids, police recovered multiple videos linked to rave parties organised on Bhopal’s outskirts.

The entry fee for these parties ranged from ₹10,000 to ₹25,000, with separate charges for narcotics. Yasin controlled every detail, from logistics to the distribution of MDMA, hashish, and other synthetic drugs sourced from Mumbai, Rajasthan, and Punjab.

Additional DCP Shailendra Singh Chauhan revealed that Yasin would gather all attendees at a pub before escorting them to secret party locations. “Despite the loud music and overnight revelry, no complaints were registered as the farmhouses used were far from the city,” he added.

Chain of Pubs and Clubs Under Scanner

The crime branch has issued notices to all pubs, lounges, and clubs frequently visited by Yasin and his associates. Investigators suspect that some staff and owners may have aided the gang.

The criminal saga took a darker turn when a 29-year-old woman filed a rape case against Yasin at MP Nagar police station. The survivor, employed in a private firm, met Yasin at a pub last year. He allegedly promised marriage and called her to a five-star hotel, where he raped her. Sub-Inspector Archana Tiwari confirmed that the FIR includes charges of sexual assault and blackmail.

A 55-Year Criminal Empire

Investigations reveal that Yasin’s family had built a criminal empire spanning over 55 years. Originally fish brokers in Budhwara, they shifted to Hathaikheda in the 1980s, leveraging political connections to secure contracts and dominate illegal mining in stone quarries.

In the early 2000s, they earned community trust by organising Durga pandals and Devi Jagran. However, between 2005 and 2010, they shifted focus to students from engineering and pharmacy colleges, organising cricket tournaments and freshers’ parties. By 2015, the family was deeply entrenched in the drug trade, illegal arms, and sexual exploitation of girls, many of whom were coerced into drug addiction and even religious conversion attempts.

Congress Leader’s Son Among Key Accused

The investigation took a political twist when police arrested Anshul Singh alias Bhuri, one of Yasin’s close aides, on July 31. During interrogation, he admitted to being the son of a Congress leader.

Anshul, who is currently on extended police remand until August 7, has over 20 criminal cases, including attempted murder, assault, arms act violations, and liquor smuggling, registered across Bhopal police stations. He is listed as a history-sheeter at TT Nagar police station.

Following his confession, police arrested 32-year-old Taufiq Nizami and recovered a pistol and cartridges supplied to Anshul.

Key Arrests and Seizures

18 July: Saifuddin and Shahrukh alias Ashu caught in Govindpura with Rs 3 lakh cash and drugs.

Later, based on their confession, Yasin Machli and Shahwar Machli were nabbed with 3 grams of MD drugs and a country-made pistol.

They reportedly smuggled drugs from Mumbai, Punjab, and Rajasthan, selling them at high-end parties.
Exploitation of Hindu Girls

Police confirmed that Hindu girls were deliberately targeted for drug delivery. Many were addicted, physically abused, and blackmailed, with some facing pressure for religious conversion.
