National Investigation Agency (NIA) has charge-sheeted three Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HuT) terror operatives in a conspiracy to propagate the banned terrorist outfit’s ideology and raise funds from foreign and other sources for promoting its activities. They allegedly sought support from the Pakistan Army to enforce the constitution written by HuT founder Taqi al-Din al-Nabhani in Bharat.
In a tweet on August 1, the NIA said: “Kabeer Aliyar @ Kabeer Ahmed, Aziz Ahmed @ Jaleel Aziz Ahmed, and Bava Bahrudeen @ Mannai Bava have been charged under relevant sections of the IPC and the UA(P) Act, 1967 in case RC-01/2024/NIA/CHE.”
The NIA said that the accused entered into a criminal conspiracy with HuT office-bearers to establish an Islamic Caliphate in Bharat by seeking military assistance from forces inimical to the country and enforcing the constitution written by HuT’s founder Taqi al-Din al-Nabhani. The probe revealed the trio had also planned to secure support from the Pakistan Army through Haj and Umrah travellers.
The NIA said in a statement: “The accused were engaged in recruiting vulnerable youth into the secret bayaan classes of HuT and were radicalised into the ideology, which was banned, along with all its manifestations and front organisations, by the Government of India in October last year. The charge-sheeted accused had also organised an exhibition showcasing the military might of Islamic nations like Iran, Turkey, Egypt and Pakistan, with the intention of inviting them to overthrow the lawfully established Government of India through violent jihad and war.”

Their agenda was to spread ISIS ideology and radicalise vulnerable youth.”
In case RC-03/2024/NIA/CHE, the NIA probe further revealed that Alfasith followed the activities of the global terrorist group ISIS and had downloaded incriminating videos and documents from the ISIS-operated Telegram channel ‘nashida33’ (Al Wala Wal Bara).
