New Delhi: A deeply emotional and spiritual program, “Sneh-Bhojan Prasad,” was organised today at Gujarat Bhavan in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, to welcome devotees returning from the sacred Amarnath Yatra. More than 150 pilgrims partook in the meal, experiencing a profound sense of intimacy and Indian cultural warmth.
The event was personally spearheaded by Rajya Sabha MP Dr Ajeet Gopchade, a resident of Hazur Sahib, Nanded. His heartfelt initiative to serve, welcome, and honour the devotees resonated deeply with all attendees. Notably, 100 pilgrims from Hazur Sahib, Nanded, participated under the leadership of Adv. Dilip Singh Thakur ji, who were in Delhi for “Delhi Darshan” after completing their Amarnath Yatra.
During the Sneh-Bhoj Prasad program, women Amarnath pilgrims from Hazur Sahib, Nanded, were honoured with traditional ‘haldi-kumkum’ by women from Delhi. All pilgrims received a loving welcome with a showering of flowers from the people of Delhi, symbolising a beautiful exchange of affection between North and South India, embodying the spirit of “India is my home.”
Distinguished guests present included former Mayor of Delhi Municipal Corporation Jathedar Avtar Singh ji, Langar Seva Pramukh S Ajit Singh ji, BJP Parliamentary Party Office Pramukh Venugopal ji, and environmentalist Osho Kalia. They delivered inspiring addresses, emphasising the importance of India’s cultural unity and spiritual traditions, highlighting how such events foster a sense of unity and service within society.
The program saw the enthusiastic participation of numerous Delhi citizens, including Bhupinder Singh, Surjit Singh Gill, Satbir Kaur, and many other mothers, sisters, and youth. Over 150 individuals, including 93 travelers, were present.
Held in the restaurant of Gujarat Bhavan from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, the atmosphere was filled with devotion and enthusiasm. The food prasad, imbued with the aroma of Indian cuisine, the sweetness of devotion, and affection, was consumed by the devotees with both relish and reverence. The collaborative spirit of the mothers, sisters, and citizens of Delhi brought alive the sentiment of “India is my home,” transforming the event from a mere meal into a significant festival expressing mutual affinity and brotherhood between pilgrims from diverse parts of India and the people of Delhi.
In his message, Dr Ajeet Gopchade stated: “We are proud to be a part of the service of this divine yatra. Shri Amarnath Yatra is a symbol of our spiritual glory and welcoming the pilgrims is a service and a privilege for us. Our aim is to connect with the soul of India in the heart of Delhi.”
He also expressed profound gratitude: “The time and hard work given by all the mothers, sisters and brave colleagues of Delhi in my absence is invaluable.”
Dr Gopchade extended his heartfelt thanks to the volunteers, Gujarat Bhavan administration, and all devotees who contributed to the event’s success, assuring that similar events will continue to strengthen India’s unity, faith, and culture.
The program concluded with mass prayers and bhajan singing, elevating the spiritual and emotional ambiance. This event served not only as a culmination of a religious journey but also as an unforgettable memory of intimacy, hospitality, and national unity for the devotees, reaffirming India’s living example of unity in diversity, where every pilgrimage and every citizen embodies ‘India.’
