A wave of devotion swept through the city as a large number of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims gathered on the serene banks of the Tawi River to take part in a special evening aarti. The spiritual gathering added a deeply devotional dimension to the sacred pilgrimage, which continues to draw thousands of yatris from across India and abroad.

Chants of hymns, the sound of bells, and the glow of oil lamps lit up the riverbank, creating a mesmerising and peaceful ambience. The pilgrims, many of whom had journeyed from distant corners of the country, participated with folded hands and reverent hearts, seeking blessings for a safe and fulfilling yatra to the Amarnath Cave shrine.
Local authorities and volunteers ensured proper arrangements for crowd management, security, and cleanliness. Many yatris expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and smooth arrangements made by the administration in Jammu, which serves as a key base camp for the annual pilgrimage.
The Tawi River, often referred to as the lifeline of J&K, has long held spiritual significance. The aarti, organised as a collective prayer for peace and harmony, has become a symbolic prelude to the journey into the Himalayas toward the holy Amarnath shrine, where the naturally formed ice lingam of Bhagwan Shiva draws devotees in the lakhs each year.
