ABPS 2025: RSS unveils expansion-outreach plan for centenary year, calls for introspection, acknowledgment & dedication

Construction of the Ram Mandir is an achievement of society, not RSS. It has strengthened national unity and integrity. He emphasised that being Hindu is a matter of pride, not shame—Hindu is a nationalist, cultural, and spiritual identity, not just a religious one. The awakening of Hindu society is visible, said, RSS Sarkaryavah while addressing media on the last day of Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) 2025

The Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) 2025 of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is going on in Bengaluru. The Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha is the highest decision-making body and is organised every year. This years’ ABPS is being held in the premises of Janseva Vidya Kendra, located at Channenahalli near Bengaluru. The meeting will conclude on March 23, 2025.

The annual report (Karyavritta) of the last year (2024-25) of the Sangh has been presented and discussed in the Baithak. Along with a critical analysis of it, reporting on special initiatives of the last year by various Prants and units of the Sangh has also been also be done during this 3-day baithak.

On the third day of the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) 2025, RSS Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabole held a press conference by saying that, tributes were paid this morning in the Baithak to Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru on their shaheed diwas for their revolutionary activities. Despite hailing from different parts of the country, they united for the cause of Bharat’s freedom.

A statement by Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale on the 500th Birth Anniversary of Maharani Abbakka was also issued, recognising her as one of Bharat’s greatest women freedom fighters.

“A total of 1,482 people were expected to attend, out of which 1,443 were present, marking an attendance of 93.7 percent. Swayamsevaks from various regions, including Manipur, Jammu and Kashmir, Kanyakumari participated in it. All these swayamsevaks and karykaratas are actively engaged in various RSS sewa, shakha, and other activities”, he informed.

“The Baithak discussed the role of swayamsevaks in relief and rehabilitation efforts during natural calamities, such as the landslide in Wayanad. It was highlighted how RSS swayamsevaks promptly reach affected areas to assist people. Discussions were held regarding the expansion of RSS, with a target to reach every mandal within the next three years”, he said.

“RSS has never celebrated its anniversaries, such as Silver or Golden Jubilees. The Sangh has always focused on expanding its work rather than on celebrations. However, as RSS completes 100 years, this occasion is seen as an opportunity for introspection, acknowledgment of achievements and dedication to the service of the nation”, he said.

A resolve was also taken on the occasion of the RSS centenary.

“Since time immemorial, Hindu society has been immersed in a very long and incredible journey for the objective of achieving human unity and universal wellbeing. With the blessings and efforts of Saints, Seers and great personalities, including glorious women, our Rashtra has been able to keep marching ahead despite several upheavals”, the copy of the resolve reads.

“In 1925, Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar initiated the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh to eradicate the weaknesses that had crept into our nation’s life over the period of time and to take Bharat to the pinnacle of glory (Paramvaibhav) as an organized, virtuous and a powerful Rashtra. Sowing the seeds of Sangh work, Doctor Hedgewar evolved a unique man-making (vyakti-nirman) methodology in the form of daily Shakha, which turned into selfless penance for rebuilding the nation in tune with our eternal traditional values and ethos. In his lifetime itself, this initiative had spread nationwide. The process of building contemporary time consistent systems in various walks of national life, in the light of eternal philosophy started under the visionary leadership of the Second Sarsanghachalak Pujaniya Sri Guruji (Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar)”, it further reads.

“In this journey of hundred years, with the values imbued in daily-shakha, Sangh has earned the unwavering trust and affection of Society. During this period, Sangh Swayamsevaks have strived to carry everyone along with the strength of love and affection, rising above honours and insults, likes and dislikes. On the occasion of the Sangh’s centenary year, it is our duty to remember the Pujya Saints and the righteous people (Sajjan shakti) in the society whose blessings and cooperation have been of great strength amidst all odds, the selfless Karyakartas who have devoted their lives and the Swayamsevak families who have been immersed in silent dedication. Bharat being an ancient culture with rich traditions has the experiential wisdom to create a harmonious world. Our thought protects the entire humanity from divisive and self-destructive tendencies and ensures peace and a sense of oneness among living and non-living beings”, the resolve further reads.

He also informed about the programs for the RSS Centenary year. The RSS will conduct focused programs, including:

October 2, Program on Vijayadashami – The first major program will be held on Vijayadashami, where Sarsanghchalak will address swayamsevaks. This includes organising shakhas in every mandal, with a target of one lakh shakha. The aim is to reach the maximum number of bastis and households.

Samaj Sammelans and Hindu Sammelans – At the mandal level, these sammelans (conferences) will be organised to emphasise the need for a strong and harmonious society free from discrimination. The practice of Panch Parivartan will be explained, and guidance will be provided on how to implement it in daily life.

Samaajik Sadbhav Baithak (Goodwill Meetings) – Due to the efforts of swayamsevaks, social unity has been strengthened. The goal is to ensure that society remains united. These meetings will focus on spiritual enrichment, harmony, freedom from youth free from any addiction, and cleanliness in localities.

Interaction with Intelligentsia for changing the narratives (Pramukh Jan Gosthi) – This meeting will focus on national issues. The false narratives were propagated over the years and it needs to be corrected. The aim is to bring about a shift in discourse (Vimarsh ko badalna hai).

Dr Mohan Bhagwat’s Interaction – Dr Mohan Bhagwat will set the trend for the national narrative through his addresses in four cities.
Shakha Expansion Plan – From September 2025 to October 2026, one-week shakhas will be organised in more than one lakh locations.
Youth Engagement (Ages 13-30) – Special programs will be organised for college students and youth, focusing on Panch Parivartan, sewa, and national development, ensuring they contribute to society and make Bharat prosperous again.

On the Aurangzeb Controversy and Waqf Bill, he said, the government has formed a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the Waqf Bill which is working in right direction. Regarding Aurangzeb, he remarked that historical facts must be acknowledged. The renaming of Aurangzeb Road in Delhi to Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Road had a purpose. He questioned why Dara Shikoh was not made an icon in Bharat, while those against Bharat’s ethos were glorified. He emphasised that the nation should honour those who worked for its betterment and cultural heritage, not those who opposed its values and those aligned with Bharatiya ethos.

Regarding caste-based census, he stated that religion-based reservation is not part of the Constitution, as emphasised by Dr BR Ambedkar.

On delimitation, he said, “Politicians can make any statement on delimitation, but RSS does not comment on something that does not even have a draft yet.”

On Manipur issue, he said that the RSS has provided suggestions and addressed issues related to Manipur but has not demanded any specific action. The government has taken steps as per the situation. There is a hope for improvement, and people from both (Meitei and Kuki) are beginning to feel optimistic about peace and harmony returning to Manipur.

“Construction of the Ram Mandir is an achievement of society, not RSS. It has strengthened national unity and integrity. He emphasised that being Hindu is a matter of pride, not shame—Hindu is a nationalist, cultural, and spiritual identity, not just a religious one. The awakening of Hindu society is visible, but certain corrections, like eradicating untouchability, are still needed”, he said.

On inter-caste marriage, he highlighted that RSS swayamsevaks have always supported intercaste marriages. Those born in Bharat are Hindus, and people who attend shakhas have risen above caste-based issues.

“RSS draws inspiration from Bharat’s history, culture, and ethos. All the great freedom fighters have taken inspiration from Bharat’s national ethos. While they may not have been swayamsevaks, their sacrifices are remembered in RSS morning prayers. From Chaar Sahibzaade to Bhagat Singh, from Maharani Abbakka to Rani Lakshmi Bai, they all emphasised the importance of national, spiritual, and cultural heritage. A society can only be harmonious if its icons align with its ethos. If someone takes inspiration from invaders, that must be countered”, he said.

He further stated that even during non-BJP Governments at both the state and central levels, RSS Swayamsevaks have been appointed to various positions based on eligibility, capability, and competence. Selection happens on merit, and if any illegal activity occurs, necessary action should be taken. Since Swayamsevaks are also citizens of Bharat, they have the right to be appointed to Government positions.

On illegal immigration, he stressed that proper mechanisms must be followed. Reports of illegal infiltration are in the society, and it is the government’s responsibility to enforce laws and regulations regarding this.

Regarding, women’s participation in Sangh, he said that, women actively participate in all RSS programs. Kutumb Prabodhan, family values cannot be strengthened without women’s participation. It is not just RSS, but society as a whole, that must ensure women’s involvement in every activity and decision-making process. The role of women in societal development must be emphasised.

RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat, Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, all six Sah-Sarkaryavahs, and all members of the executive are present in the 3-day meeting. Total 1,443 Karyakartas, mainly elected representatives from Prant and Kshetra levels, are also participating in this meeting. The All India President, General Secretary, and Organising Secretary of 32 RSS-inspired organisations are also present. The baithak will conclude on March 23 evening.
