Odisha: All allegations against ABVP in alleged clash with Nagina MP are false; Not a single ABVP activitst involved

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has strongly condemned the violent incident at Utkal University in Bhubaneswar, where an external crowd allegedly assaulted students and disrupted the academic environment during a political program attended by Lok Sabha MP Chandrashekhar Azad. Denying any involvement in the clash, ABVP dismissed Azad’s allegations against the organization as false and an attempt to cover up the violence

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad has strongly condemned the incident in which an external crowd assaulted university students and disrupted the academic environment during a political program attended by Lok Sabha MP Chandrashekhar Azad in Utkal University in Bhubaneswar.

No ABVP activist was involved in the clash between Chandrashekhar Azad, his supporters and others at the educational institution. The allegations made by Chandrashekhar Azad on his social media handle X are entirely false and baseless. Via such accusations, he aims to cover up the incident of violence and assault on university students.

ABVP National General Secretary Dr Virendra Solanki stated, “Maintaining the dignity of educational institutions is of utmost importance. Educational institutions are not battlefields. The manner in which the crowd led by Chandrashekhar Azad assaulted the students and hampered with the university atmosphere is unfortunate and condemnable. It is regrettable that some media portals based on Chandrashekhar Azad’s social media post are broadcasting false allegations against ABVP without verifying it.”

ABVP Odisha Purba State Secretary Deeptimayi Pratihari stated, “ABVP’s continuous positive movements in Odisha have significantly contributed to the education sector and in resolving the youth related issues. On the other hand, some negative forces are trying to use Odisha’s educational institutions for their petty interests. An inquiry should be conducted into why permission was granted for a political event at Utkal University. The administration must ensure that no incident of violence by anti-social elements must occur in Odisha’s educational institutions.”
