Mahakumbh: All about “Chhattisgarh pavilion” set up by state govt, providing free food, lodging facilities to devotees

Mahakumbh Nagar: As millions of Hindus continue to flock on the sacred Triveni Sangam to take a holy dip in the ongoing Mahakumbh, devotees from Chhattisgarh are not lagging behind either.

Hundreds of thousands of devotees from the state continue to arrive at Prayagraj to take a holy dip at the sacred confluence, with many staying at Chhattisgarh pavilion, a community centre set up by the state government to provide basic facilities to the devotees from state.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai along with the state cabinet too visited the holy city on Thursday, February 13. Following traditional rituals and worship at Sangam Ghat, the state cabinet visited the Chhattisgarh Pavilion, a center of attraction for the devotees from the state in the ongoing mega gathering.

The pavilion has been offering free food and lodging facilities to the devotees from Chhattisgarh since the commencement of the Mahakumbh 2025. Over 25000 devotees from the state have already stayed and enjoyed the hospitalities being offered at the pavilion.

Residents of the state, arriving at the pavilion are being provided with facilities such as food, snacks, blankets, beds, charging points along a clean environment to stay.

Cultural programs, showcasing the rich and age-old unique traditions of the state, its tribal culture are also being organised at the centre. This includes performances from folk dancer and singers.

The entrance gate was designed on the line of iconic Gaur Mukut (crown) linked with Bison Horn Maria community while the pavilion from inside is decorated with paintings and exhibiting depicting rural life, spiritual places and enrich culture of the state.

Further, information pertaining to state and various welfare schemes of the state government is also being provided to the people through VR headsets.

Devotees expressed satisfaction over arrangements

Devotees visiting the place are all praise to the facilities, with expressing satisfaction over the arrangements and the noble initiative of the state government.

Sharing his ordeal, Vaibhav Sahu, a resident of Baloda Bazar said “I have arrived at the Mahakumbh and was raoming around to find a suitable place to stay when I got to know about the pavilion set up by the government. The government has made excellent arrangements here, be it the beds or the food. The devotees can stay here with ease”.

“I would like to thank CM Sai, excellent arrangements have been made here,” said Revati Verma, a resident of Dharsiwan block of Raipur district. Another resident who visited the pavilion a day before Maghi Purnima expressed that “we are five people staying here and the facilities are really good, everyone who arrives here are being provided with food and beds to rest. We would like to thank the government”.

Expressing similar sentiments, NRI couple Yogendra Mohan Khare and his wife Renuka Khare said that when they were coming to Prayagraj they had some doubts in their mind but all that dispelled when they reached the pavilion.

Excellent arrangements have been made here, the pavilion is beautifully decorated, the exhibition placed here are also mesmerizing, added the couple while thanking CM Sai.
