New Delhi: Rashtriya Kala Manch in collaboration with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad led Delhi University Students’ Union is set to organise their three-day annual cultural festival Madari. The event set to be scheduled from February 12 to February 14 at Delhi University’s North Campus will witness a multitude of exhibitions, performing arts and true essence of Bharat’s culture and Heritage.
The 6th Edition of Madari is set to bring a cultural celebration from 12-14 February at Arts Faculty, North Campus, University of Delhi. A platform for the theatre and street play societies to showcase art on various societal issues like Literature as a mirror of society, women’s perspective and student’s viewpoints.The 6th Edition of Madari is primarily divided into three parts:
1. Khichdi: A segment for the college societies to perform and showcase their art.
2. Dharohar: This segment focuses on showcasing Bharatiya Folk Culture through Poetry, Music & Dance.
3. Gramya:This segment highlights the true essence of our society through art exhibition.
This Edition of Madari will be attracting over 5000 students from Delhi University and other academic institutions excelling in fields of performing arts, painting and cultural activities. The winning teams will be provided with cash rewards on the basis of securing first, second and third positions respectively. Another key highlight for the event is that it will showcase a special exhibition on the MahaKumbh. The event will also follow a zero-use plastic policy for better environmental sustainability.
Bhanu Pratap Singh, Vice President (Delhi university students’ union stated, “Madari 2025 which is scheduled between 12 to 14 February at Delhi University’s North Campus will serve as a stage for the students to showcase their art and also connect with the cultural heritage of our nation. The event is consciously designed with three segment each having its own importance and vitality. We truly believe that this cultural festival will serve more than a fest and will contribute to a better connection of youth with their culture”
Mitravinda Karanwal, Secretary (Delhi University Students’ Union) stated, “Madari is not just a cultural festival but a movement to revive and celebrate Bharatiya traditions, art, and storytelling. Through theatre, music & poetry we aim to provide students a space to express, engage with the essence of our heritage. This edition with its special MahaKumbh exhibition will deepen the cultural values and inspire youth to embrace their roots.”
ABVP’s State Secretary Harsh Attri stated, “With every edition of Madari, it has grown into a vibrant confluence of cultural pride. This year also promises an even more enriching experience bringing together thousands of students who are into performing arts and social expression. By integrating sustainability through a zero plastic policy we also aim to make a conscious impact on society.”
