Raipur: In a shocking development reported from Bijapur, police have recovered the body of a journalist who was missing for three days. The police on Friday, January 3 recovered journalist Mukesh Chandrakar’s body from a septic tank.
Chandrakar went missing soon after he left his house on Wednesday’s evening, January 1. His brother journalist Yukesh Chandrakar tried contacting him over the phone but it was found to be switched off.
He then tried searching him at houses of closed ones and other parts of the city before lodging a missing person report with the police.
After receiving the information, the police launched a manhunt to trace Chandrakar and eventually recovered his body from a septic tank under mysterious circumstances on Friday.
Chandrakar’s body was recovered after the Delhi police reportedly nabbed a suspect, soon after it received a tip-off from the Bijapur police. The nabbed individual was reportedly a relative of the contractor from whose premise Chandrakar’s body was recovered.
The contractor premise is located in the Chhattanpara area around 2 kilometers from Chandrakar’s house. The last mobile location of Chandrakar was reportedly of the same place. The said septic tank in his premise was also constructed in a hurry further raising doubts.
As of now the case is being investigated by the police and the motive behind the horrific crime is yet to be revealed.
