The historic 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) witnessed the launch of a groundbreaking OTT platform, WAVES, by Prasar Bharati, Bharat’s national public broadcaster. Unveiled by Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, with the presence of Shri Sanjay Jaju, Secretary of Information & Broadcasting, this innovative platform has taken the digital world by storm. Within just a month, WAVES crossed an impressive milestone of 1 million downloads, stating its deep cultural resonance with Bharat’s audiences.

WAVES has emerged as a beacon of Bharat’s rich cultural heritage, blending iconic programming from Doordarshan with cutting-edge technology to cater to the evolving tastes of modern viewers. By combining classic television shows, contemporary productions, and state-of-the-art features, WAVES redefines digital streaming for all generations.

Doordarshan, synonymous with Bharat’s television history, steps into the future with WAVES. While it retains its timeless appeal with beloved classics like Ramayan, Mahabharat, Shaktimaan, and Hum Log, the platform integrates modern storytelling to engage new-age audiences.
