Gautam Gambhir’s words turn true: Former Delhi Dy CM Manish Sisodia shifts assembly seat to Jangpura

In the viral 2022 video, Gautam Gambhir can be heard saying, “Manish Sisodia will run from Patparganj in 2025. If he has the courage, tell him not to run away” (Manish Sisodia mein dum ho toh 2025 mein Patparganj se lad le, bhaagna nahi).

In a surprising political development, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced that Manish Sisodia will contest the upcoming Delhi assembly elections from Jangpura instead of his long-held Patparganj seat. This decision has created a stir on social media, especially after an old video of former BJP MP Gautam Gambhir resurfaced on social media platforms.

In the 2022 video, Gautam Gambhir challenged Manish Sisodia to fight the 2025 elections from Patparganj, claiming that Sisodia would switch his seat before the polls. Gambhir’s words have now turned out to be true, and the video is going viral.

Notably, Gautam Gambhir is known for making bold statements, and this time, his prediction about Sisodia has hit the mark. Social media users are actively sharing the video, saying, “Gambhir had seen this coming in 2022.”

Interestingly, Jangpura has about 17 per cent of Muslim voters who tend to support AAP, making it a relatively safer choice for Sisodia. On the other hand, Patparganj is dominated by the Punjabi, Baniya, and Pahadi communities, who reportedly feel dissatisfied with the performance of both Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia.

This development has added a new twist to the political scenario in Patparganj and Jangpura ahead of the Delhi assembly elections.

Adding to the buzz, AAP has announced Avadh Ojha as their candidate for Patparganj, which has further fueled discussions.

It is to be noted that, AAP Patparganj candidate Avadh Ojha in an interview with BBC was allegedly stopped midway at the party’s Delhi office. As per a video released by BBC, the interruption occurred when reporter questioned Ojha about his past praise for BJP and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

However, the discussion was interrupted by an AAP representative, who was heard saying, “I had told you not to ask any ulta-seedha (odd) question. Stop this.” Singh responded by asserting, “I was just asking a question. Sir, it’s very normal.”

When Singh sought clarification from Ojha, asking if the question was objectionable, Ojha replied, “Bhaiyya dekho, I will tell you. The party will decide the line. This is what these people will decide.” Ojha then removed his microphone, ending the interview.

Ojha, a former classroom instructor who transitioned to YouTube coaching, joined AAP after speculation about joining BJP or Congress, and reports of being denied Lok Sabha tickets by both.
