MATHURA: “Hindus should remain united; Hindu unity is essential in society and necessary for public welfare. There are efforts to divide Hindus based on caste and ideology, and we must stay alert to this,” said RSS Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale while addressing the media before the conclusion of the Akhil Bhartiya Karyakari Mandal Baithak, which was held at the Navdha Auditorium, Deendayal Gau Vigyan Anusandhan Evam Prashikshan Kendra, Gau Gram, Parkham, Farah.
“In the Akhil Bhartiya Karyakari Mandal Baithak, we reviewed the work done by the Sangh and its inspired organizations in their respective regions and discussed the upcoming plans. The review of RSS’s 100th-year expansion plan was also discussed”, Dattatreya Hosabale said.
“In the Baithak, there was a discussion on the ‘Panch Parivartan’ programme for the benefit of society. The program includes five key points for social transformation: Samajik Samrasata (social harmony), Kutumb Prabodhan (family enlightenment), environment, the insistence on ‘Swa’ (self-reliance), and the duties of citizens. These practices should not only be followed by the swayamsevaks but also by their families, only then can we encourage others to follow them,” said Dattatreya Hosabale.
“This year, across the country, our Shakhas have increased by 3,626 compared to last year. Currently, there are 72,354 Shakhas operating in 45,411 locations. 6,645 new Shakhas have been added this year. Additionally, the number of ‘Saptahik Milan’ has risen to 29,084 this year, which is 3,147 more than last year. The ‘Masik Sangh Mandalis’, which are held once a month has increased to now total 11,382, which has also increased by 750. Thus, we now have 101,438 Ikais (Units). This is an achievement for us in the context of the RSS centenary year”, he said.
He told that next year the Pratinidhi Sabha will be held in Bengaluru and the expansion of work will increase by then. He said that the Sangh works to build the character of the workers. This method of character building should not be seen only in discussions but also in conduct and for the past years the society has been experiencing this.
“In the next four months until the Pratinidhi Sabha, we will work towards further increasing these numbers. We have also discussed how development should not just be about quantity but quality as well”, he said.
“In times of societal distress or crisis, Sangh swayamsevaks always come forward to help, which is commendable. Nowadays, many individuals and organisations also contribute during natural disasters, and we work alongside them. Swayamsevaks are always alert in this regard. For instance, in July, there was a flood in the Tarkeshwar river of West Bengal. Swayamsevaks helped 25,000 people, saving lives and providing food. In Puri, Odisha, during floods, they assisted 40,000 people”, said.
He also mentioned that, “even now, during the ongoing Dhana cyclone, swayamsevaks are providing service. When a landslide occurred in Wayanad, Kerala, 1,000 swayamsevaks immediately stepped in to provide help. They assisted everyone equally, Hindus and Muslims alike. When Muslim passed away during the landslide, the swayamsevaks conducted the last rites as per their religious beliefs. When there was a flood in Vadodara, Gujarat, the swayamsevaks provided assistance,” said Dattatreya Hosabale.
Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale said that the work of ‘Swa’ is the work of the fragrance of the soil. Mahatma Gandhi had also said Swarajya. ‘Swa’ means ‘Swadheenta’, Rashtriya Swatva. Here we have to behave with our own tradition, our own civilization, its experiences, follow modernity, do not forget ‘Swa’ even in modernity. He said that this is the 300th year of Punyashloka Ahilyabai Holkar. Social awakening, renovation of temples, efficient governance shows that even 300 years ago, the women power was capable of running the government for the people and for public work.
On the negative implication of mobile s and OTT platforms on children he said that, Children now have mobile phones in their hands. While gaining knowledge is good, not everything they are learning is beneficial. There are things that can distract the mind and bring in bad influences.
“There is a need for regulation from a legal perspective on the OTT platforms. As there is a Film Certification Board for films, something similar is needed for OTT as well. With technology reaching our classrooms, bedrooms, and every space, there is a need for regulation as there is a difference between the two. Such regulation must be implemented with the welfare of society in mind”, he said.
“The society should think about ensuring that our next generation has a good character, does not engage in wrong activities, and does not develop a habit of drug use. Families should also work on this,” Hosabale said.
In the context of Bangladesh atrocities on hindus he said, “the Government of India has provided assistance to the minority community. The Sangh has also emphasised that the Hindu community there should remain there only. They should not migrate. There is a Shaktipeeth also and that region has made significant contributions to our history as a Hindu nation. We want Hindus to remain there, but their protection must be ensured. They have been suffering for 20 years, and the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh is there to support them, and it will continue to do so.”
“If the Hindu community does not stay united, it will be divided. If we engage in discrimination based on caste, language, and other divisions, we will get divided. Therefore, unity is necessary. The unity of the Hindus is for public welfare and will bring happiness to all,” said Hosabale.
On the Krishna Janmabhoomi case, he said, “The matter is in court, and we hope that the court will resolve this matter quickly, just as the Ayodhya issue has been settled. We should have faith in the judiciary. The issue is still ongoing, and people are raising their voices.”
On the Waqf Amendment Bill, he said, “Until 2013, several amendments were made during the UPA Government’s tenure. This was done under a specific conspiracy, and it will now have to be corrected.”
On love jihad and conversion, he said, “The Sangh has been addressing these issues for the last 25 years. The Sangh mainly focuses on ‘Vyakti Nirma’. Regarding Love Jihad, our inspired organisations like Hindu Jagran Manch, Vishva Hindu Parishad, and Bajrang Dal works. Sangh swayamsevaks are also working on this issue. When a girl falls victim to love jihad, we work on her rehabilitation and stand with such organisations who is working for their betterment. We acknowledge the challenges that these girls faces. It is our responsibility to protect our youth, particularly young girls. Some girls who have been victims of love jihad and is raising awareness among other girls on this, the Sangh supports them. Preventing love jihad is a societal responsibility, and it is essential to instill values in our girls to avoid such situations”, he said.
“On conversion, Sangh swayamsevaks work to prevent people from converting and help those who have already converted to return to their original faith (Hindu). We do not refer to this as ‘religious conversion’ but rather as ‘ideological conversion,’ which leads to a change in thinking and a disconnection from the nation. Both Gandhi Ji and Vivekananda opposed conversion, and we are following their teachings in our efforts to stop it. Society also needs to work on this issue. We focus on serving and educating the economically weaker sections, who are the most vulnerable to conversion. Our aim is to ensure they do not feel the need to leave their religion, and that society stands by them,” he said.
“Our karykari mandal baithak is not meant to send a message to any particular party. There was a 30-minute discussion with CM Yogi. We talked about the Kumbh. During the meeting, Yogi ji mentioned that last time, he had been in power for only one year. This time, he has gained a lot of experience, and they will make this Kumbh successful with better planning than the previous one. The Sangh will assist in bringing people from all over the country to the Kumbh. We had discussions on this matter with CM Yogi.”
