The state government has acquired 50 acres of land near the sacred "Punaura Dham," birth place of Mata Sita for expansion of temple premises along beautification of the religious site

PATNA: Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar has penned a letter to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi requesting operation of a Vande Bharat train between Ayodhya to Sitamarhi’s Punaura Dham, a sacred place renowned for being the birth place of Mata Sita.

In his letter to the PM, the Bihar’s CM has expressed satisfaction over the Ram-Janki route being built by the Union Government between Ayodhya and Sitamarhi to boost the road connectivity between the two sacred sites connected to Treta Yug.

The CM also congratulated the Prime Minister for the development work in Ayodhya and Ram Mandir (temple). “Firstly, I would like to congratulate you for the development work of sacred town of Ayodhya and erection of a magnificent temple of Bhagwan Ram,” read the letter.

Kumar, further informed that the state government has acquired 50 acres of land near the sacred Punaura Dham, birth place of Mata Sita which holds religious significance among the masses similar to Ayodhya, for expansion of Mata Sita temple premise along beautification of the religious site.

He further thanked the Prime Minister for allotment of Vande Bharat trains to Bihar while emphasing that the steps taken by the Union Government towards improving the rail connectivity is in public good and commendable.

Kumar in the letter has further requested the PM to make an allotment of a Vande Bharat Express between Ayodhya and Sitamarhi’s Punaura. He also has requested for the speedy completion of proposed Ram-Janki route, citing the same will ease the travel of devotees, visiting the sacred site associated with Mata Sita.

Taking to the X, the CM while sharing the copy of the latter asserted that “a better transport system will increase the number of tourists alongside strengthening the local economy.”

Notably, CM, Nitish Kumar led Janata Dal (United) reunited with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) months before the Lok Sabha polls held this year. The party in the Lok Sabha elections secured victories on 12 Lok Sabha seats out of the 16 seats it contested and is a part of the NDA government led by PM Modi.

Kumar, who is the longest serving CM of Bihar is one of the key allies of the NDA alliance, formed under the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the year 1998, which is in majority at Centre for the third consecutive term.
