Karnataka: Complaint filed against MUDA officials and CM Siddaramaiah’s wife over alleged land registration scam

In a new development surrounding the alleged scam in the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA), a fresh complaint has been lodged with Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot. The complaint, filed by a social activist named Snehamayi Krishna, accuses certain officials of illegally registering a renunciation deed, purportedly in the Governor’s name.

The complaint specifically names Siddaramaiah’s wife, Parvathi, alleged to have registered a letter of resignation involving Mysore Urban Development Authority’s First Class Assistant, K.C. Umesh. According to the details, a 3.16-acre parcel of land in Kesare village, under Survey No. 464, was illicitly registered on November 25, 2021. The complaint claims that this renunciation deed was illegally executed, raising serious questions about the legality of the entire process.

With a sense of urgency, Snehamayi Krishna, in the complaint, has urged immediate action against Umesh and other MUDA officials involved, insisting that the illegal registration needs to be scrutinized and the responsible parties held accountable.

The Governor’s office has confirmed receipt of the complaint filed by Snehamayi Krishna. As the details of the alleged scam surface, there is growing curiosity about the Governor’s next steps, particularly in light of the sensitive nature of the accusations and the involvement of high-profile individuals.

This complaint is not the first time that Snehamayi Krishna has targeted Siddaramaiah. The social worker has previously filed a private complaint against the Chief Minister in the Special Court for People’s Representatives, alleging a series of improprieties. The court, presided over by Judge Yadish Santosh Gajanana Bhat, has yet to decide whether to hear the private complaint.

The controversy has reignited public interest in the longstanding allegations against Siddaramaiah, particularly concerning his dealings with MUDA. Social media claims that Siddaramaiah secured a replacement house site from MUDA during his tenure as a first-time MLA. A letter purportedly written by Siddaramaiah requesting this favour has gone viral, fueling the already contentious issue.

As the situation unfolds, the complaint Snehamayi Krishna lodges adds another layer of complexity to the ongoing scrutiny of MUDA’s operations and the alleged involvement of political figures in land-related irregularities. The outcome of this complaint and the Governor’s response could have significant repercussions for the parties involved and potentially lead to further investigations into MUDA’s affairs, underscoring the gravity of the situation.
