Agartala: The political turmoil and rise of radical forces in Bangladesh will impact the Northeastern states of India massively. According to Pradyot Manikya Deb Barma, the leader of Tipra Motha, to stop attacks on minorities and indigenous people residing in Bangladesh, the Indian government must hold talks with whoever takes over as interim government.
Tripura royal scion Pradyot Manikya cautioned on Facebook, stressing the need to refrain from making controversial remarks. Attacks on Bangladesh’s indigenous population and other minorities have grown. This is extremely worrying, and I have no doubt that the Indian government will speak with whoever becomes leadership of the temporary administration. Additionally, we have to exercise caution to avoid making any controversial remarks,” he stated.
Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, gave Pradyot the assurance that India’s borders are well-guarded and that no unauthorised immigration will be permitted when they spoke on August 5. According to Pradyot Manikya, the Union Home Minister is keeping an eye on the situation and has given security forces instructions to maintain their vigilance at the borders. “West Bengal, Meghalaya, Assam, Tripura, and West Bengal will be the frontline of anything that occurs there,” he had said. The Indian government needs a backup plan in case anything unexpected occurs today or in the future.”
Given the current circumstances in the neighbouring country, Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha stated on Tuesday that the state administration is stepping up surveillance of the international border with Bangladesh. CM Saha, who is also the State’s Minister of Home Affairs, stressed how critical it is to stop illegal immigration from Bangladesh into Tripura.
CM Saha said during a press conference that he continues to evaluate the situation in Bangladesh and that the state government is actively working with federal authorities. “I have talks with the Chief Secretary, the Tripura Police, the Assam Rifles, the Border Security Force, and other security agencies. I also keep in regular contact with the central government.” In order to guarantee that the border is secure, we are carrying out procedures in accordance with instructions from the Center,” CM Saha stated.
“To avoid any unauthorised admission into the state, I have directed all security services to collaborate closely with one another. We are not allowing anyone to enter Tripura at this time,” he continued. Additionally, CM Saha denounced as deplorable the recent attacks on Bangladesh’s Hindu minority.The fact that so many people—students included—are standing up to defend Hindu temples and minority groups in Bangladesh is heartening. We are keeping a careful eye on these events,” he said. According to CM Saha, Tripura has not encountered any problems thus far, and the Center has requested updates on the situation.
