A tragic and suspicious death of PSI Parashuram (34) from Yadgiri Cyber Crime Station has stirred controversy and serious allegations against local political figures. PSI Parashuram, who had been serving in Yadgiri for the past three years, was found dead at his residence today (August 3) under circumstances that have raised concerns and accusations.

The family members of the deceased have levelled serious allegations against Congress MLA Chennareddy Patil and his son Pampanna Gowda, holding them responsible for the death of PSI Parashuram. According to the family, the PSI had been under immense pressure due to financial demands allegedly made by the MLA.

The controversy stems from claims that MLA Chennareddy Patil had demanded a sum of Rs 30 lakh from PSI Parashuram in exchange for a favourable posting to the Yadagiri town police station. Reportedly, Parashuram paid the amount, and was posted to Yadagiri city. However, before completing even a year in his new position, he was abruptly transferred to the Yadagiri Cyber Crime Station, which reportedly caused him significant stress.

Family members allege that the constant pressure and financial burden led PSI Parashuram to fall into debt. They also claim that he had spoken with Minister Priyank Kharge on the phone just before his death, indicating that he was seeking help to alleviate the pressures he was facing.

PSI Parashuram’s wife, Shweta, has officially filed a complaint, directly accusing Congress MLA Chennareddy Patil and his son Pampanna Gowda of being responsible for her husband’s death. She alleged that the MLA had repeatedly harassed her husband for money and that their family was targeted because they are Dalits. Shweta has demanded accountability from the MLA, insisting that he should come forward and address the allegations. She has lodged her complaint with District Superintendent of Police Sangeeta.

The family and supporters have expressed outrage over what they describe as a corrupt and exploitative system. They allege that PSI Parashuram’s premature transfer was a result of the MLA’s greed and manipulation. According to Parashuram’s father-in-law, Venkataswamy, the MLA had auctioned off police postings in the district, giving positions to those who could pay the highest amounts. He asserted that if his son-in-law had been able to pay more money, he would not have been transferred prematurely.

In response to the tragic incident and the serious allegations, various pro-Dalit organizations and the family members of the deceased PSI have staged a protest on National Highway 150. They are demanding the immediate arrest of MLA Chennareddy Patil, accusing him of using his political influence to exploit and harass individuals for money. The protestors also claim that the local police are complicit, supporting the MLA instead of protecting the interests of the people.

The incident has drawn widespread attention, and there are calls for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding PSI Parashuram’s death. The allegations of corruption, exploitation, and caste-based discrimination have shocked the community and sparked a debate about the integrity of local law enforcement and political accountability.

The Chief Minister and Home Secretary are being urged to take notice of the situation and ensure that justice is served. As the investigation continues, the spotlight remains on the actions of the Congress MLA and the broader implications for governance and fairness in the region.
