After the launch of the ‘Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana’ for women, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has introduced a new scheme aimed at providing job training and stipends for young men. The initiative, tentatively named the ‘Ladka Bhau’ Yojana, is part of the ‘Mukhya Mantri Yuva Karya-Prashikshan Yojana’.

On July 1, the state implemented the ‘Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin’ (Laadli Bahin Scheme) and has now announced the ‘Ladka Bhau Scheme’ (Laadla Bhai Scheme) for the state’s unemployed youth.

According to this, 12th-pass students will get a stipend of Rs 6 thousand per month, diploma holders will get Rs 8 thousand per month, and graduate youth will get a stipend of Rs 10 thousand per month.

The Chief Minister stated that under the new scheme, youth will undergo a one-year apprenticeship in a company, gaining valuable work experience that will qualify them for employment based on their acquired skills. This initiative aims to produce skilled workers, with the government funding the training to supply skilled youth to industries within the state and the country. This marks the first instance in history where such a scheme has been introduced by a government, aiming to address unemployment through proactive measures.

How Ladka Bhau Yojana will work?

The ‘Ladka Bhau’ Yojana aims to link job seekers and employers through a specialised website. This platform will facilitate practical work experience for candidates and provide entrepreneurs with the necessary manpower for their industries. Industries and establishments participating in the scheme must meet certain criteria. They should be operating within Maharashtra and registered as employers on the Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation web portal. These establishments must have been in operation for at least three years and hold registrations with RPF, ESIC, GST, DPIT, and Udyog Aadhar, along with a certificate of incorporation.

What are the eligibility criteria for the Chief Minister Youth Work Training Scheme?

1. Candidate age must be between 18 to 35 years for the scheme.

2. Candidate should be 12th pass/ITI/Diploma/ Degree and Post Graduate.

3. Those in education will be unable to avail of this scheme.

4. Candidate should be a resident of Maharashtra.

5. Bank account should be linked to Aadhaar.

6. Interested candidates must register online at https://rojgar.mahaswayam.gov.in website of Department of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

7. After completing the training period, the students will be given certificate by the concerned industry or establishment.

Application Process: Step-by-Step Guide

Online Application: Youth must apply online via the official Maharashtra government website. – https://www.rojgar.mahaswayam.gov.in/

New User Registration: Click on the “New User Registration” button on the home page.

Form Filling: Fill in the required information carefully.

Document Upload: Upload all necessary documents as requested in the application.

Submit: Click the submit button to complete the application process.

What is Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana and who will benefit?

Under the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, eligible women in the age group of 21 to 60 years will get a monthly allowance of Rs 1,500. The family’s annual income should be less than Rs 2.50 lakh. Families with an annual income of more than Rs 2.50 lakh, taxpayers, government employees or pensioners having more than five acres of land or four-wheelers (except tractors) will not be eligible for this scheme.

The scheme is aimed at ensuring overall development and empowerment of women, including economic independence, self-reliance, health and nutrition.
