Cadres of the outlawed Communist Party of India (Maoist) have uprooted a railway track in Maoist affected Kolhan region of Jharkhand on early Wednesday morning, July 10 during their one-day shutdown (Bandh) call against persistent operations of security forces in the region.
The incident has occurred around 3 AM in the morning on the Manoharpur- Jaraikela railway track of Chaibasa under the Howrah-Mumbai main railway track leading to halting of operation of trains.
The outlaws after uprooting the track also unfurled a banner on the site labelling charges of alleged brutality by security forces in Kolhan-Saranda region where the forces have amplified counter insurgency drives lately. Earlier the proscribed outfit in a press release had given a call for a one-day shutdown in Kolhan division.
In the press release issued by the Dakshini (South) Zonal Committee, the ultras have alleged the forces for running a special campaign under operation Kagaar to eliminate the Maoists in the Kolhan-Saranda region, a geographical stretch in the southern part of state adjacent to the Orissa border covered with dense forests.
This comes after the security forces in a major operation launched in Lipunga area under the Gua police station limits of West Singhbhum district neutralised as many as four Maoists terrorists including a top zonal commander and sub zonal commander of CPI Maoist on June 17
The area is considered home to the top rung leadership of the CPI Maoist of Jharkhand who is believed to have shifted their base here after the security forces managed to capture Maoist affected pockets of Budha Pahad and Parasnath zone, both erstwhile bastions of the outlawed outfit.

In a related development, Maharashtra police have arrested two cadre of the outlawed group from Bhamragarh Taluka of Insurgency-hit Gadchiroli district, said police on Wednesday, July 10.
The arrested cadres were reported to be part of various unlawful activities and were conspiring to launch an attack on the security forces. The arrest was made during a search operation in Dhodharaj area under the Bhamragarh Taluka.

Those apprehended by the police have been identified as Ravi Mulla Pallo and Doba Korke Vadde both residents of Kavande of Bahmaragarh carrying a reward of Rs 5 lakh each.
It is worth mentioning here, that as many as two female commanders of the outlawed outfit had also surrendered before the police in Gadchiroli on June 27. The surrendered Maoists were identified as Rambatti alias Zarina Narote and Chandrakala alias Sunanda alias Manisha Uike, both section commander of company no 10, carrying a cumulative bounty of Rs 8 lakh each.
