In a disturbing incident in the Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh, a teenage boy has accused his mother and a Muslim man of coercing and threatening him to convert to Islam. Following the victim’s complaint, the Kasrawad police station has registered a First Information Report (FIR) under the Madhya Pradesh Religious Freedom Act and various sections of the Indian Penal Code. Both accused have been arrested.
According to a report by Nai Dunia, the complainant revealed that his father passed away a few years ago. Subsequently, a Muslim man developed a relationship with his mother. In his complaint, the teenager detailed that on March 3rd, at 9 PM, both his mother and the Muslim man pressured him to convert to Islam. When he refused, he was allegedly assaulted.
The complaint further states that the accused also threatened to kill the teenager if he did not comply. The boy reported that the Muslim man frequently visited their home, persistently pressuring him to undergo circumcision and convert to Islam.
The situation escalated on the evening of July 1. The teenager claimed that his mother and the Muslim man again demanded that he undergo circumcision. When he refused, they allegedly beat him. The following day, the victim, accompanied by activists from Hindu rights organisations, went to the police station and filed a formal complaint against his mother and the Muslim man.
