As stated by the Prime Minister in Parliament that the Congress party is a parasite is a big reality as being substantiated by the ground level reality. We will check this fact State by State.

Firstly we start with the southern State of Tamil Nadu. After creation of Telangana this is the largest State in South in terms of number of seats. The Congress party won 9 seats in 2024 while it won 8 seats in 2019 LS elections. The Congress party is part of the rainbow coalition in Tamil Nadu with parties like Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Kongunadu Makkal Desia Katchi, Communist parties, Indian Union Muslim League and Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. The Congress party allied with these parties in both the previous elections with minor change. But in the 2014 LS election the Congress party had contested all 39 seats on its own and got a meagre 4.37 per cent of votes with no seat. By contesting on its own in 2014 the Congress party had lost all its 8 seats with a big drop of 10.66 per cent of votes in 2014. In the 2009 LS election the Congress party contested in alliance with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi and won 8 seats along with 15.03 per cent of vote share.

In Uttar Ptradesh in the 2019 LS election the Congress party won only the seat of Rae Bareli. Even the Congress party lost its traditional seat of Amethi being represented by the Gandhi family for long. In the 2024 LS election the Congress party had won 6 seats with an addition of 5 seats. This all had happened due to alliance with the Samajwadi Party. In the 2022 Assembly election in UP the Congress party won only 2 seats and on 62 ACs the Congress party was trailed even by the NOTA (None of The Above) in the 2022 Assembly election.

In Bihar in the 2010 Assembly election the Congress party contested on its own and won only 4 seats. In 2015 the Congress party forged an alliance with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Janata Dal United (JDU) and won 27 seats while contesting 41 seats. In the 2020 Assembly election the Congress party won 19 seats in contesting in alliance with the RJD and others the Congress party won 19 seats.
