The IIRF University Ranking 2024 has established a new standard in evaluating higher education. Leading the category of Top Central Universities, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi claims the first position, while the University of Delhi (DU) has impressively advanced to second place, a significant leap from last year’s sixth rank. Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi also achieved a top spot, emphasizing their strengths in research, faculty quality, and student outcomes.

In the Top Deemed Universities (Government & Private) category, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru, Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) in New Delhi, and Homi Bhabha National Institute in Mumbai were acknowledged for their sustained academic excellence and substantial contributions to research and education.

The IIRF University Ranking 2024 marks a significant milestone in the assessment of higher education institutions. Ashoka University in Sonipat has notably elevated to the top position among the Top Private Universities (Overall), advancing from its second-place ranking in the previous year. This ascent underscores Ashoka’s commitment to academic excellence and its robust educational framework. Similarly, the Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT) in Gandhinagar and Shiv Nadar University in Dadri have been recognized for their comprehensive educational offerings, strong ties with industry, and outstanding technical education programs. These universities are setting new standards in Indian higher education through their dedication to research innovation and collaboration with industry partners.

The rankings evaluate institutions based on seven key parameters: Placement Performance (PP), Teaching Learning Resources & Pedagogy (TLRP), Research (Volume, Income, and Reputation) (RS), Industry Income and Integration (III), Placement Strategies & Support (PSS), Future Orientation (FO), and External Perception & International Outlook (EPIO). These parameters provide a comprehensive view of each university’s strengths in academic and research capabilities.

The IIRF University Ranking 2024 includes a comprehensive array of categories, providing a detailed assessment of various types of institutions. These categories feature the Top 50 Central Universities and the Top 100 Deemed Universities, which are further divided into government and private institutions. Specific subcategories highlight universities excelling in technical and research fields, arts, sciences, humanities, and medicine. Additionally, the rankings encompass the Top 100 Private Universities overall, with further distinctions for technical programs, arts, sciences, and medical fields.

Moreover, the rankings identify the Top 10 Private and Deemed Universities based on research capabilities, as well as the Top 25 Deemed and Private Universities based on faculty quality. Emphasis is also placed on employability, with the Top 30 Deemed Private Universities recognized for their alumni networks and employability outcomes. The list also includes the Top 30 Emerging Private Universities, showcasing institutions with significant potential. These categories collectively offer a nuanced view of the higher education landscape in India, guiding stakeholders in making informed choices.

The 2024 rankings meticulously highlight top-performing universities across diverse categories, including Central Universities, Deemed Universities, and Private Universities. These rankings serve as crucial tools for prospective students, educators, and policymakers alike, providing invaluable insights to facilitate informed decision-making in academia. By recognizing excellence and innovation in education, the IIRF rankings contribute significantly to advancing educational outcomes and fostering academic growth in India.
