“Litigation, Not Plea”: Legal Hindu Defense all set to counter inescapable persecution of pro-Bharat voices

In response to the escalating targeting of pro-right figures in India, particularly those associated with nationalist ideologies, Bharatiya Janata Party’s spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala has launched a significant initiative named ‘Legal Hindu Defense’. This legal forum aims to combat what is perceived by many in the nationalist ecosystem as a systematic campaign of false FIRs, malicious legal actions, and intimidation orchestrated by elements within the left-ecosystem.

The need for such a forum became apparent due to rising incidents of nationalists like Anand Ranganathan, Ajeet Bharti, and Ashok Shreevastava (from DD News) being targeted with baseless legal challenges. The nationalist ecosystem has voiced concerns over what they describe as an onslaught of fake cases and hate speech allegations designed to suppress their voices.

Shehzad Poonawala emphasised the proactive stance of Legal Hindu Defense, asserting that it would utilise a wide legal network to counteract false news and hate speech directed against Hindus and advocates of Sanatan values. His announcement underscored a departure from mere defensive strategies to a proactive legal stance aimed at safeguarding the interests of nationalists across India.

“I am very proud that today such an initiative has been taken by some Hindus, some nationalism, some youth. Its name is Legal Hindu Defense. The whole meaning of this volunteer (group) is that now there will be no pleading, yes, it means that whatever legal and legal actions have to be fought, Legal Hindu Defense will fight through its wide legal network, whether it is Be it on the fake news spread by them, be it on the hate speech spread against Hindus and Sanatan” he added.

The launch of Legal Hindu Defense comes amid heightened tensions following the Lok Sabha elections, where the Congress-led INDI Bloc claimed a moral victory with 99 seats. This political backdrop has allegedly emboldened actions against nationalists, prompting the need for a robust legal defence mechanism.

Shehzad Poonawala also announced that Legal Hindu Defense would mobilise 10 to 12 legal experts and activists in every state to combat fake news detrimental to India’s interests. “Whether it’s targeting nationalists or combating falsehoods, we will not remain silent. We are prepared to take action against such misinformation wherever it spreads,” he added.

Poonawala outlined the initiative’s strategy, highlighting plans to mobilise legal luminaries and activists in every state to ensure swift legal action against false accusations and misinformation. His call to action resonated with Ajeet Bharti, senior journalist, who expressed gratitude for the initiative and pledged support in fundraising efforts to sustain the legal defence.

The initiative has been received as a symbolic David-versus-Goliath battle against what is perceived as entrenched and powerful forces within the left-wing ecosystem. As Legal Hindu Defense gears up to challenge legal and media narratives, its establishment marks a significant escalation in the ongoing ideological struggle within Indian media and political spheres.
