The Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has dismissed Chief Minister MK Stalin’s alleged plan to instigate Tamils against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. TN BJP spokesperson ANS Prasad emphasised that the people of Tamil Nadu are well aware of both PM Modi and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party’s intentions, and such efforts will not succeed.
Prasad drew attention to the situation in Odisha, where Naveen Patnaik has nominated VK Pandian, a Tamil Nadu native and former IAS officer of the Odisha cadre, as his political successor. This decision has sparked a demand for a “son of the soil” to govern Odisha, and BJP leaders, including PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, have expressed their support for a local leader to succeed Patnaik.
Prasad accused Chief Minister MK Stalin of distorting PM Modi’s speech during an election campaign meeting, alleging that Stalin criticised VK Pandian as if he had spoken against Tamils. Prasad further labelled the DMK as a separatist party and challenged their commitment to a unified India, citing their historical agenda of establishing a Dravidian country.
According to Prasad, the DMK’s activities are consistently driven by a divisive North India versus South India narrative. The BJP remains firm in their conviction that the people of Tamil Nadu are well-informed and will not be swayed by attempts to create disharmony between the state and the central government.
In a recent statement, BJP spokesperson ANS Prasad reiterated the party’s unwavering focus on the nation’s interests above any individual or party. Prasad highlighted the inclusion of prominent Tamil Nadu figures such as Jana Krishnamurthy, S Thirunavukarasar, and L Ganesan as Rajya Sabha members from northern states, showcasing the BJP’s commitment to representation from diverse regions.
Prasad further noted that Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, S Jaishankar, and L Murugan, hailing from Tamil Nadu, were also appointed as Rajya Sabha members from other states by the BJP. Additionally, Prasad highlighted the recent appointment of renowned musician Ilaiyaraaja as a Rajya Sabha MP, a move made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to Prasad, PM Modi has been the sole leader who has consistently praised the glory of the Tamil language not only in other states but also on the international stage. Prasad found it ironic that Chief Minister Stalin and the DMK party, known for creating divisions among southern states by labelling MGR as a Malayali, Jayalalithaa as a Kannada, and Vaiko as a Kalingapatti Telugu, would criticise PM Modi, who holds immense love for India.
The BJP spokesperson emphasised that the people of Tamil Nadu are well aware of PM Modi’s commitment to showcasing the richness of the Tamil language globally. Prasad also highlighted the contrasting actions of Chief Minister Stalin, who celebrates Rahul Gandhi as a brother while embracing a convicted individual involved in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case. Prasad accused CM Stalin of engaging in diversionary tactics and asserted that he cannot diminish PM Modi’s influence in the hearts and minds of the people of Tamil Nadu.
Furthermore, Prasad stated that the people of Tamil Nadu will no longer accept CM Stalin and his associates wearing the mask of Tamil protectors. Prasad criticised the alliance between the DMK and Congress, alleging that they had played a part in the suffering of Tamils in Sri Lanka.
A couple days ago, TN BJP Annamalai gave a befitting reply to Stalin by saying, “The CM of Tamil Nadu, Thiru MK Stalin’s full time job is to lie. If you see the amount of lies he peddled after becoming the CM, if you list them out, you cannot fill them in pages. Another lie he spread today was about the speech of PM Modi in Odisha regarding Tamil people. CM doesn’t read things properly, somebody wrote notes for him, and he asked somebody to post it on twitter”.
In a tweet, he said, “It is unfortunate that TN CM Thiru MK Stalin, who lives in a silo surrounded by cheerleaders, keeping him distant from happenings inside TN & beyond, talks about matters without understanding the context of what was spoken by our Hon. PM Thiru Narendra Modi during his campaign in Odisha. We wish Thiru CM MK Stalin be reminded that dividing people in the name of region, religion, language & caste has been his party’s domain expertise that we are determined to stay away from.”
