Controversy is not new to Aam Aadmi Party leader Swati Maliwal, who has caught the eye of everyone in the wake of the physical assault that she had to endure at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence. What is most appalling is the silence of Arvind Kejriwal, with whom she has been associated for more than a decade and has been rewarded from time to time for her loyalty.

The story of friends turned into foes has baffled everyone. More so, what has turned the needle of suspicion is why Arvind Kejriwal shuddered during the press conference and slyly passed the mic to Samajwadi Party leader Akhlesh Yadav when the reporter asked his view point on the assault at Swati Maliwal.

What needs to be asked is there something that Maliwal was about to unravel that could put Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in deep soup.

How did Swati Maliwal come in contact with Arvind Kejriwal?

Swati Maliwal’s association with Arvind Kejriwal dates back to 2011, when she joined his NGO Parivaartan soon after completing her graduation in information technology from the JSS Academy of Technical Education, Noida. Hailing from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, Maliwal rose to prominence as she became an integral part of Kejriwal’s core committee of 23 members who were actively working at that point in the Anna Hazare-led anti-corruption movement, India Against Corruption.

Maliwal was among the vocal voices against graft, and later on, she played a pivotal role in leading the protests of AAP at the time of the Nirbhaya Gang rape case, which shook the nation in 2012. She was active in mobilising the youth at that point of time.

AAP was built to combat corruption in the country, However, Arvind Kejriwal could not keep himself away from power and joined politics. Many stalwarts who were part of the Anna movement disassociated themselves from Arvind Kejriwal, as they were able to gauge his malafide intentions pretty early. However, Maliwal did not leave him and time and again she was rewarded handsomely for her loyalty towards Kejriwal.

It was in 2015 that she was made the Chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), a position she held for almost eight years. According to reports in the media, Maliwal, though she raised her voice against incidents of crimes against women  not only in Delhi but also in other parts of India, was also marred by controversy.

Her predecessor, Barkha Shukla Singh, a BJP leader, accused her of being involved in alleged irregularities in appointments  that she made to the DCW. Taking cognizance of the complaint filed by Barkha, the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) registered an FIR against Maliwal in the case in September 2016. Later, she was interrogated by the ACB, which reports to the Lieutenant Governor’s office.

Illegal appointments made by Swati Maliwal

Barkha had also alleged that Maliwal was being rewarded by Kejriwal with plump positions as she was his sister. However, Kejriwal took to X  at that point of time and cleared the air that Maliwal was not his cousin.

Some media houses n opp leaders alleging that swati is my cousin. Complete nonsense. She is not even remotely connected(1/2)

— Arvind Kejriwal (@ArvindKejriwal) July 15, 2015

A clear case of misuse of power and position by Maliwal came to the fore when the ACB filed a chargesheet against Maliwal and others, under sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and criminal conspiracy in a city court in December 2016. It was mentioned in the charge sheet that against 26 sanctioned posts in the DCW, Maliwal, who was named as an accused, appointed 87 persons, most of whom were AAP workers or associated with her. The case reached the court, and it was in March 2023 that the Delhi High Court stayed the proceedings against her.

It was earlier in May, Delhi Lt Governor VK Saxena sacked 52 “illegally appointed” contractual employees of the DCW who were appointed during Maliwal’s tenure. Maliwal, at that point in time, had slammed LG Saxena over the move.

Maliwal opened up about being sexually exploited by her father and her bad marriage

Controveries and Maliwal go hand in hand. This is evident from the fact that Maliwal had opened up about being sexually abused by her own father and also for ending her bad marriage, which came to an end in 2020.

It is interesting to note that after the assault at CM Kejriwal’s house, Maliwal’s ex-husband spoke to the media and alleged that Swati’s life is under threat. In  a video message  posted by Maliwal’s former husband, Naveen Jaihind, he said, ” I am Naveen Jaihind. Since yesterday, I have been getting a lot of calls from journalists regarding what happened with Swati Maliwal at the Delhi Chief Minister’s residence. First, I want to say that I am divorced and have not been in contact with her for the last four years. Second, I want to tell you that whatever has happened with Swati was planned, and now she has been threatened, and anything can happen to her.”

He also claimed that the alleged assault on Swati Maliwal happened at the behest of “someone.”. “The man who has assaulted Swati does not have the guts to even raise his voice, but he did that on the instructions of someone. I cannot tell whose orders he is following.”

According to reports in the media, Bibhav Kumar, OSD of Kejriwal, physically assaulted Swati in the presence of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. Swati’s husband also asked for the arrest of Kejriwal, as the assault on Swati happened in his presence.

Was the rift brewing between Swati Maliwal and Kejriwal? Know the possible reasons

Eyeballs were rolling as Swati Maliwal did not pay a visit to Arvind Kejriwal while he was languishing in jail for almost a month. It has also been reported that Swati Maliwal’s name was missing from the list of star campaigners for the Punjab Lok Sabha Polls 2024, while Sunita Kejriwal’s name was second on the list.

In view of the Lok Sabha election campaign, Aam Aadmi Party released the list of star campaigners for Punjab.

As per the reports in the media, an AAP leader spoke on the condition of anonymity and stated that Swati’s name was not included in the list of those who would campaign as she was at loggerheads with Sunita Kejriwal.

Is the rift just about asking Swati to resign from Rajya Sabha, or was she going to open the pandora’s box?

The brutal assault on Swati Maliwal by Kejriwal’s OSD Bibhav Kumar, wherein he pulled her shirt, hit her on her chest, and her private parts, cannot be ignored; more so, it was done allegedly in the presence of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. The details of the brutal assault are mentioned in the FIR that Maliwal filed.

The news that is going around is that apparently Kejriwal wanted Maliwal to resign from Rajya Sabha and offer the seat to his lawyer, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, to which Maliwal refused. Initially, Kejriwal had asked Sanjay Singh to resign from Rajya Sabha.

Now, let us come to the big question as to why Kejriwal got petrified in the press conference when he was asked about Swati Maliwal. The background check of AAP and Kejriwal reveals that they were allegedly involved in the farmers protest, the Khalistan movement, and the Shaheenbagh protest, and had come out in support of the terrorists. Also, let us get back to history and learn about Santosh Koli, who was working with Kejriwal since the inception of his NGO Parivartan and was allegedly killed in an accident. Koli’s killing case never opened, and it never bothered Kejriwal.

So why is Swati Maliwal’s name making Kejriwal perspire so much? As it has been reported in the media, apparently Kejriwal had destroyed hundreds of his phones, which means that there was sensitive information that Kejriwal did not want the investigative agencies to know. Is it that Swati was going to divulge all the details, or was she threatening Kejriwal that she would reveal the passwords of all the sensitive files and electronic gadgets to the investigating bodies if she was forced to resign from Rajya Sabha. Is Arvind Kejriwal related to an illegal Bitcoin business, the details of which Maliwal would reveal to the investigative agencies. Is there some link that Maliwal knows about Kejriwal that he has with the Khalistanis, the CIA, and China?

Divulging such information might lead to getting proof against the lawyers, bigwigs of the media, politicians, and Teesta, Medha Patkar, and other agents of Deep State and the western cabal. The conspiracy is much deeper, and what we are all seeing happening with Maliwal is simply the tip of the iceberg.
