PM Modi questions Congress’ credentials on freedom of speech and slams Nehru for changing the ethos of constitution

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lambasted the Nehru-Gandhi family for destroying the ethos of the constitution. In parliament, the first amendment made by Jawaharlal Nehru was freedom of speech, and this was completely undemocratic.

Highlighting the fact that the constitution that was made was the result of a lot of deliberations and that those who were involved in its making have a lot of experience. He added that those who framed the constitution knew the roots of Bharat well.

The constitution of Bharat is also referred to as a socialistic document, and its makers were extremely foresighted. They formulated the policy in such a way that the country could run well. Thirdly, many things are not exhibited in words but are showcased in images.

The original copy of Bharat’s constitution had a painting on each page, and this connects us to our glorious past, which showcases our culture, tradition, history, and beliefs. The objective of showing these images was to ensure that people understood these things easily. The written part of the constitution was meant to explain the present and the future. PM Modi mentioned in the interview that the original constitution is a beautiful representation of the past, present, and future.

The first thing that Nehru did was destroy all these features that showed our traditional and rich culture. Nehru removed the original constitution and printed new copies. With an aim to regain the lost glory, PM Modi said that at the time of the inaguration of the new parliament building, he got copies of the original constitution printed and gave them to the members of the parliament.

Secondly, they changed the constitution by changing its original framework. The Allahabad court had given the judgement nullifying the election of Indira Gandhi. The Nehru-Gandhi family made mockery of the constitution by imposing an emergency, and they used the constitution to fulfil their own vested interests. They misused Article 356 and imposed it more than 100 times.

They changed the constitution to grab power, appeasement, and vote bank politics. PM Modi questioned if some deal has been done to make Rahul Gandhi win the Wayanad seat so that reservation can be given to the Muslims. It has been categorically mentioned in the constitution that reservations would not be made on the basis of religion. They are doing so to appease the Muslims.

PM Modi made a revelation that once he comes to power, the first thing that he would do is celebrate 75 years of the existence of Bharat’s constitution with pomp and show, and he would do this for almost a year. He stated, “It is imperative to counter the spread of falsehoods and ensure that the people of our country understand the sacredness of our Constitution and the ideals of its framers.” He emphasised the importance of upholding the sanctity of the Constitution and ensuring that its principles are understood by all citizens.

PM Modi underscored his commitment to discussing not only the rights enshrined in the Constitution but also the duties outlined within it. “Just as there is extensive discourse on rights, I also wish to highlight the importance of duties. It is essential to instill a sense of duty among the people of our nation,” he remarked.
