As the sacred precincts of Ayodhya’s Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir continue to resonate with the chants of devotees and the scent of incense, a new chapter unfolds in the saga of this revered pilgrimage site. With the Pran Pratishtha of Bhagwan Ram Lalla marking a historic milestone, attention now turns towards the future of the Ram Mandir complex and the myriad developments set to grace its hallowed grounds.
Since the auspicious Pran Pratishtha of the murti of Bhagwan Ram Lalla on January 22, approximately 1.5 crore devotees have made the pilgrimage to the newly erected Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya, according to the general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Champat Rai.
Rai revealed that the Mandir has been witnessing an impressive footfall of over one lakh visitors daily, all seeking the darshan of Bhagwan Ram Lalla. This surge in pilgrimage reflects the deep-rooted reverence and devotion of millions towards Bhagwan Ram.
The Pran Pratishtha, attended by around 8,000 VVIPs from various walks of life, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marked a significant milestone in the construction of the grand Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir. Crafted by the renowned sculptor Arun Yogiraj, the 51-inch-tall murti of Bhagwan Ram Lalla now stands as the focal point of devotion for millions.
Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir complex to feature an array of smaller Mandirs
Looking ahead, the Mandir trust announced plans for the construction of a 14-foot-wide security wall surrounding the Mandir, termed as ‘Parkota’, to ensure the sanctity and security of the sacred premises. Currently, only the ground floor of the Mandir is completed, with ongoing work on the first floor.
Moreover, the complex is set to feature several smaller Mandirs within its premises, honouring various deities, including Bhagwan Shiva, Bhagwan Surya, Bhagwan Hanuman, and others. This multipurpose area will accommodate additional facilities to cater to the needs of pilgrims, with an estimated capacity to host 25,000 devotees at a time, along with their belongings.
Emphasising environmental conservation, Rai highlighted the protection of over 600 plants within the temple premises. Additionally, the Mandir infrastructure includes water treatment and sewer treatment plants, ensuring self-sufficiency and minimal environmental impact.
Ram Navami celebrations
The recent celebration of Ram Navami on April 17 witnessed grand festivities at the Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, marking Bhagwan Ram’s birth anniversary. Unique rituals, including the illumination of Bhagwan Ram Lalla’s forehead with ‘Surya Tilak’ via a scientific system, added to the spiritual ambience of the occasion. The Mandir remained open for 19 hours, welcoming devotees to offer their respects and partake in the offerings of 56 bhog.
Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir
Constructed in the traditional Nagara style, the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir stands as a testament to architectural splendour and spiritual significance. Spanning 2.7 acres of land in Ayodhya, the Mandir boasts dimensions of 380 feet in length, 250 feet in width, and 161 feet in height. With 392 pillars and 44 doors, the temple’s intricate design showcases sculpted depictions of Hindu deities, embodying the rich cultural heritage of India.
As the pilgrimage to Ayodhya’s Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir continues to draw millions, the site emerges as a symbol of faith, unity, and devotion for devotees worldwide.
