Kerala Insights: Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai’s observations on CPM’s echo of DMK challenges

Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai has drawn intriguing parallels between the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) in Kerala and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in Tamil Nadu. He suggests that both parties grapple with similar challenges, shedding light on a thought-provoking observation within the southern political landscape

Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai said in Palakkad that Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) in Kerala suffers from the same disease which Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) suffers in Tamil Nadu. The roadshow in the Kanjikode area was very mammoth and enthusiastic. Thousands of people participated in the roadshow led by K Annamalai and BJP leader C Krishnakumar, the NDA candidate in the Palakkad parliamentary constituency. K Annamalai’s road show is part of the visits of several national leaders to Palakkad for electioneering.

Charismatic BJP leader added that DMK suffers a particular disease (in Tamil Nadu). CPM (in Kerala) suffers from the same disease. The fact that they are stopping the distribution of Bharat rice is an example. Congress and CPM fight each other at Coimbatore. When Rahul attends an election campaign in Coimbatore, he is flanked by DMK and CPM leaders on either side. But, 50 km apart, they act as enemies in Wayanad. In Kerala, I.N.D.I.Alliance is unable to say who their Prime Minister candidate is. K Annamalai asked how they (CPM and Congress) could save the State. He wondered how people can elect “men with no clear stand” to rule them.

K Annamalai said that now Bharat is the Number five economy. Modi guarantees that by 2028, we will be Number three. Modi guarantees the country’s total development. Our youths should be able to work here. They will not have to go to Gulf countries for livelihood.

Several BJP State leaders participated in the roadshow. Major Ravi, filmmaker, actor, BJP State president and BJP district president K M Haridas were in the open jeep along with K Annamalai and candidate C Krishnakumar.

The Kerala district of Palakkad borders Tamil Nadu, so Tamil is a familiar language on the eastern side of the district. Therefore, Annamalai obviously enjoys mass appeal there. The people who participated in the road show welcomed him as their mass leader.
