Notable among these endeavours was the renaming of the Tripura International Airport in homage to Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya, a symbolic gesture of the government’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage. “The Communist regime’s attempts to erase his name from the annals of history symbolise a broader narrative of cultural suppression and ideological hegemony. However, Prime Minister Modi’s decision to immortalise Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya by naming the Tripura International Airport after him marks a significant departure from the past.”, He said. Home minister Shah’s impassioned rhetoric resonated with the crowd as he recounted the transformative impact of PM Modi’s initiatives, particularly in empowering youth through access to education and employment opportunities. Highlighting the government’s increased allocation of funds for tribal welfare, former BJP president Shah underscored its unwavering commitment to prioritise the development of tribal areas in Tripura, a testament to its inclusive governance approach.
